Advances in Position‐Momentum Entanglement: A Versatile Tool for Quantum Technologies

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Position–momentum entanglement constitutes a high‐dimensional continuous‐variable resource in quantum optics. Recent advances in its generation, characterization, and control are reviewed, with emphasis on spontaneous parametric down‐conversion and modern measurement techniques.

Multicore composite single-mode polymer fiber

open access: yesOptics Express, 2011
We study, fabricate and characterize an all-solid polymer composite waveguide consisting of a multicore fiber for single-mode operation down to the visible. The individual cores of the multicore structure are arranged such that they strongly interact, to form the composite core.

Breaking the speed limitation of wavemeter through spectra-space-time mapping

open access: yesLight: Advanced Manufacturing
Speckle patterns generated by the intermodal interference of multimode fibers enable accurate broadband wavelength measurements. However, the measurement speed is limited by the frame rate of the camera that captures the patterns.

High-speed PAM4-based Optical SDM Interconnects with Directly Modulated Long-wavelength VCSEL

open access: yes, 2018
This paper reports the demonstration of high-speed PAM-4 transmission using a 1.5-{\mu}m single-mode vertical cavity surface emitting laser (SM-VCSEL) over multicore fiber with 7 cores over different distances.

An electrooptical muscle contraction sensor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
An electrooptical sensor for the detection of muscle contraction is described. Infrared light is injected into the muscle, the backscattering is observed, and the contraction is detected by measuring the change, that occurs during muscle contraction ...

Quantum key distribution over multicore fiber

open access: yesOptics Express, 2016
We present the first quantum key distribution (QKD) experiment over multicore fiber. With space division multiplexing, we demonstrate that weak QKD signals can coexist with classical data signals launched at full power in a 53 km 7-core fiber, while showing negligible degradation in performance.

Generalized modulational instability in multimode fibers: wideband multimode parametric amplification

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper intermodal modulational instability (IM-MI) is analyzed in a multimode fiber where several spatial and polarization modes propagate. The coupled nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equations describing the modal evolution in the fiber are linearized ...
