Multicritical point with infinite fractal symmetries

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2022
Recently a ``Pascal's triangle model" constructed with $\text{U}(1)$ rotor degrees of freedom was introduced, and it was shown that ($\textit{i}$.) this model possesses an infinite series of fractal symmetries; and ($\textit{ii}$.) it is the parent model of a series of $Z_p$ fractal models each with its own distinct fractal symmetry.

Quantum Multicriticality

open access: yes, 2015
Several quantum critical compounds have been argued to have multiple instabilities towards orders with distinct dynamical exponents. We present an analysis of a quantum multicritical point in an itinerant magnet with competition between ferro- and antiferromagnetic order, modelled using Hertz-Millis theory.

Quantum multicriticality in disordered Weyl semimetals [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2018
In electronic band structure of solid state material, two band touching points with linear dispersion appear in pair in the momentum space. When they annihilate with each other, the system undergoes a quantum phase transition from three-dimensional Weyl semimetal (WSM) phase to a band insulator phase such as Chern band insulator (CI) phase.

Honorary Whites and Overlooked People of Color: The Racial Conundrum of Multiracial Americans and Asian Americans

open access: yesSociology Compass, Volume 20, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Multiracial Americans and Asian American populations are two of the fastest growing racial groups in the United States. Our article is the first to highlight three similarities that show how these groups are uniquely racially misunderstood: (a) both are subsumed under racial umbrella terms that obscure tremendous diversity, (b) both have been ...

Project management challenges in client‐consultant decision‐making: A case for the Ghanaian mining construction industry

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Administrative Sciences / Revue Canadienne des Sciences de l'Administration, Volume 42, Issue 2, Page 302-319, June 2025.
Abstract This study explores the complex decision‐making (DM) dynamics between clients and consultants, a crucial area often neglected in existing research. Utilizing a Multi‐Perspective Approach combined with Multi‐Criteria Decision Analysis, we examine DM challenges such as cost overruns, project delays, and compromised work quality stemming from ...

The multiracial family as an anomaly: Experiences of monoracism

open access: yesJournal of Marriage and Family, Volume 86, Issue 4, Page 946-964, August 2024.
Abstract Objective Through qualitative in‐depth interviews with interracial parents across the United States, this study explores how multiracial families as a unit experience monoracism via racial surveillance, voyeurism, and dissection. Background Despite increasing representations of mixed‐race families in various media, studies find that many ...

Multicritical behaviour of the diluted contact process [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment, 2007
We study a contact process on a two-dimensional square lattice which is diluted by randomly removing bonds with probability p. For p<1/2 and varying birth rate $λ$ the model was shown to exhibit a continuous phase transition which belongs to the universality class of strongly disordered directed percolation. The phase transition line terminates in a

Un classement multicritère des villes du québec pour favoriser la prise en compte de leurs différences

open access: yesCanadian Geographer / Le géographe canadien, Volume 68, Issue 1, Page 101-114, Spring / printemps 2024.
ABSTRACT When it comes to making planning and development decisions, the concepts of small, medium‐sized, or large cities are sometimes used to adapt public policies and instruments, or even to highlight challenges that are specific to certain categories of city. In this article, we take a look at the various dimensions that can be used to characterize
