Several quantum critical compounds have been argued to have multiple instabilities towards orders with distinct dynamical exponents. We present an analysis of a quantum multicritical point in an itinerant magnet with competition between ferro- and antiferromagnetic order, modelled using Hertz-Millis theory.

Quantum multicriticality in disordered Weyl semimetals [PDF]
In electronic band structure of solid state material, two band touching points with linear dispersion appear in pair in the momentum space. When they annihilate with each other, the system undergoes a quantum phase transition from three-dimensional Weyl semimetal (WSM) phase to a band insulator phase such as Chern band insulator (CI) phase.

Multicritical behaviour of the diluted contact process [PDF]
We study a contact process on a two-dimensional square lattice which is diluted by randomly removing bonds with probability p. For p<1/2 and varying birth rate $λ$ the model was shown to exhibit a continuous phase transition which belongs to the universality class of strongly disordered directed percolation. The phase transition line terminates in a

ABSTRACT When it comes to making planning and development decisions, the concepts of small, medium‐sized, or large cities are sometimes used to adapt public policies and instruments, or even to highlight challenges that are specific to certain categories of city. In this article, we take a look at the various dimensions that can be used to characterize

Horizon scanning: Tools to identify emerging threats to plant health in a changing world
Abstract In the context of risk analysis, horizon scanning activity is a necessary component of any foresight process. This applies also to the specific context of biological invasions, supported and accelerated by climate change and global trade. Today, various institutions and research centres are equipped with a set of tools and methods for early ...

Abstract Recently there has been an uptake in the call for research that explores race and racism within the context of psychology. Researchers can use Critical Race Theory (CRT) to do so. However, scholars within the field of psychology may confront growing pains when integrating psychology research with CRT due to their respective inquiry worldviews ...

Multicritical points and reentrant phenomenon in the BEG model [PDF]
The Blume - Emery - Griffiths model is investigated by use of the cluster variation method in the pair approximation. We determine the regions of the phase space where reentrant phenomenon takes place. Two regions are found, depending on the sign of the reduced quadrupole - quadrupole coupling strength $ξ$.

Remarks on the multicritical topologies in the n=? limit
We show that phase diagrams involving the condensation of two vectorial order parameters in the limit n=∞ (n = number of components of the vectors) coupled only to quartic order exhibit an unexpectedly large variety of topologically distinct cases.
