Multidimensional Fitting for Multivariate Data Analysis
Journal of Computational Biology, 2010Large multidimensional data matrices are frequent in biology. However, statistical methods often have difficulties dealing with such matrices because they contain very complex data sets. Consequently variable selection and dimensionality reduction methods are often used to reduce matrix complexity, although at the expense of information conservation. A

Multidimensional analysis of fetal growth curves
2013 IEEE International Conference on Big Data, 2013Fetal biometry is considered the keystone in fetal well-being assessment. In particular, fetal growth curves built by means of ultrasound images and reference charts (defining the normal and pathological sizes for each biometric parameter and for each gestational age) are extensively adopted to track fetal sizes from the early phases of pregnancy up to

A multidimensional scaling analysis of empathy
Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1978Randomly arranged 10 high stimuli into 45 pairs, and a group of psychologists made judgments as to the similarity of the pairs in terms of Truax and Carkhuff's (1967) definition of empathy along a 7-point scale. A similar procedure was followed for the 10 stimuli in the "low" group and the results analyzed by multidimensional scaling.

Multidimensional topic analysis in political texts
Data & Knowledge Engineering, 2014Abstract Automatic content analysis is more and more becoming an accepted research method in social science. In political science researchers are using party manifestos and transcripts of political speeches to analyze the positions of different actors.

Networks: an Application of Multidimensional Scaling Analysis
Current Sociology, 2004The goal of this chapter is to evaluate how elites in the sample utilise the networks of relations available to them. In this context, the network approach is understood as a set of contacts with people and institutions in an occupational stratum which individuals can activate in order to accumulate the necessary resources to be able to stay there ...

Multidimensional corporate analysis
Proceedings of the 2003 conference on APL: stretching the mind, 2003The internal auditing activities in a public or private firm are fundamental in order to measure the performances and represent these through the use of indexes (usually coming from ratio analysis), tables and graphs that synthesize the financial, economic and corporate aspects of the firm life and development.

Multidimensional Real Analysis I
2004Part one of the authors' comprehensive and innovative work on multidimensional real analysis. This book is based on extensive teaching experience at Utrecht University and gives a thorough account of differential analysis in multidimensional Euclidean space. It is an ideal preparation for students who wish to go on to more advanced study.

Multidimensional Bias Analysis
2009The preceding three chapters have described the techniques for conducting simple bias analysis to assess errors caused by selection bias, residual confounding, or misclassification. However, simple bias analysis implies that the researcher has one and only one estimate to assign to each of the values for the error model’s bias parameters.
