Frailty Exacerbates Disability in Progressive Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background To evaluate frailty in severe progressive multiple sclerosis (PMS) and to investigate the underlying mechanisms. Methods This prospective, cross‐sectional, multicenter study enrolled a late severe PMS group requiring skilled nursing (n = 53) and an age, sex, and disease duration‐matched control PMS group (n = 53).

Multidimensional intermittency analysis

open access: yesZeitschrift fr Physik C Particles and Fields, 1991
We propose a method to perform the intermittency analysis of multi hadron production in up to three momentum space dimensions. The analysis of realistic (approximately) selfsimilar cascade models shows that the strongest rise of multiplicity moments with decreasing phase space intervals and the closest approach to a power law occurs in three dimensions.

Glymphatic Dysfunction Reflects Post‐Concussion Symptoms: Changes Within 1 Month and After 3 Months

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) may alter glymphatic function; however, its progression and variability remain obscure. This study examined glymphatic function following mTBI within 1 month and after 3 months post‐injury to determine whether variations in glymphatic function are associated with post‐traumatic symptom severity ...

Development of a Prediction Model for Progression Risk in High‐Grade Gliomas Based on Habitat Radiomics and Pathomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Structure–Function Decoupling of the Sensorimotor and Default Mode Networks in Black Americans With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

A Polynomial Spectral Calculus for Analysis of DG Spectral Element Methods

open access: yes, 2017
We introduce a polynomial spectral calculus that follows from the summation by parts property of the Legendre-Gauss-Lobatto quadrature. We use the calculus to simplify the analysis of two multidimensional discontinuous Galerkin spectral element ...

Lived and Care Experiences of Chronic Musculoskeletal Shoulder Pain in Australian Adults: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Australian evidence on lived and care experiences of chronic musculoskeletal shoulder pain (CMSP), irrespective of disorder classification or disease, is limited. However, such evidence is important for person‐centered care and informing local service pathways and care guidelines or standards.

Temporal patterns of gene expression via nonmetric multidimensional scaling analysis

open access: yes, 2003
Motivation: Microarray experiments result in large scale data sets that require extensive mining and refining to extract useful information. We have been developing an efficient novel algorithm for nonmetric multidimensional scaling (nMDS) analysis for ...

An open problem in complex analytic geometry arising in harmonic analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, an open problem in the multidimensional complex analysis is pesented that arises in the investigation of the regularity properties of Fourier integral operators and in the regularity theory for hyperbolic partial differential equations ...
