On a Multidimensional Boundary Value Problem
Differential Equations, 2005The author considers the existence of a solution for a nonlinear boundary value problem of the form \[ \ddot z_j+ \sum^m_{i=1} b_{ij}(z)\dot z_i\dot z_j= 0,\quad z_j(0)= 0,\quad z_j(1)= 1,\quad j= 1,\dots, m, \] with the additional condition \(0\leq z_j(s)\leq 1\), \(0\leq s\leq 1\), \(j= 1,\dots, m\), where the \(b_{ij}(z)\) are smooth scalar ...

As previously noted, the goal of the Holy Sites Project is to help facilitate and support the development of a legal regime to protect the sites separable from – though complementary to – the peace process as a whole. Our object is not to impose a solution to the problem of the holy sites. History amply demonstrates the futility of such an effort.

MULTIDIMENSIONAL ASSIGNMENT PROBLEMS
Decision Sciences, 1988ABSTRACTEach of the many two‐dimensional variations of the classical assignment problem has at least one counterpart in higher dimensions. This paper is a tutorial on these higher dimensional assignment models and their applications. It is a synthesis of a vast literature scattered throughout a great variety of journal articles and other miscellaneous ...

Multidimensional Knapsack Problems
2004In this first chapter of extensions and generalizations of the basic knapsack problem (KP) we will add additional constraints to the single weight constraint (1.2) thus attaining the multidimensional knapsack problem. After the introduction we will deal extensively with relaxations and reductions in Section 9.2.

Ordinal classification in multidimensional problems
2009Experimental data with a specific and complicated experimental protocol are taken into account and elaborated. A critical review of the most important steps in the synthesis of multivariate responses and their main properties is considered.

Homelessness: A multidimensional problem
Children and Youth Services Review, 1989Abstract The investigation reported in this article concerns 212 homeless adolescents in Amsterdam, Holland. The results are presented in Five dimensions: negative family backgrounds, long history of professional help, negative experiences at school, few friends, and low self-perception. Homeless youngsters are in high risk situations which make them

Multidimensional phase problems
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1996Uniqueness properties of phase problems in three or more dimensions are investigated. It is shown that an N-dimensional image is overdetermined by its continuous Fourier amplitude. A sampling of the Fourier amplitude, with a density approximately 22−N times the Nyquist density, is derived that is sufficient to uniquely determine an N-dimensional image.
