Visualizing Random Forest with Self-Organising Map

open access: yes, 2014
Random Forest (RF) is a powerful ensemble method for classification and regression tasks. It consists of decision trees set. Although, a single tree is well interpretable for human, the ensemble of trees is a black-box model.

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

My Early Interactions with Jan and Some of His Lost Papers

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2016
It has been over 40 years since I got to know Jan. This period almost entirely overlaps my career as a psychometrician. During these years, I have had many contacts with him.

Neuc-MDS: Non-Euclidean Multidimensional Scaling Through Bilinear Forms

open access: yesAdvances in Neural Information Processing Systems 37
We introduce Non-Euclidean-MDS (Neuc-MDS), an extension of classical Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) that accommodates non-Euclidean and non-metric inputs. The main idea is to generalize the standard inner product to symmetric bilinear forms to utilize the negative eigenvalues of dissimilarity Gram matrices. Neuc-MDS efficiently optimizes the choice of (

A Method for Fault Diagnosis Based on Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) in Analog Circuits

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract Considering different fault state of the circuit in the nonlinear analog circuit fault diagnosis, the output response of the circuit varies. A Method for Fault Diagnosis of Nonlinear Analog Circuits on the basis of Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) was put forward according to the variable output response. This method can transform

Building an IT Taxonomy with Co-occurrence Analysis, Hierarchical Clustering, and Multidimensional Scaling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Different information technologies (ITs) are related in complex ways. How can the relationships among a large number of ITs be described and analyzed in a representative, dynamic, and scalable way?

Fabrication of Pyridinic Nitrogen‐Functionalized Carbon Cloth for High‐Performance Iron‐Chromium Flow Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The carbon cloth electrode with targeted pyridinic nitrogen doping, achieved via urea pyrolysis, effectively modulates the adsorption of Cr(II) species and enhances electron transfer, leading to significantly improved kinetics of the Cr(II)/Cr(III) reaction. The material demonstrates a high discharge capacity of 689.3 mAh and an energy efficiency of 72.

D3D-MDS: A Distributed 3D Localization Scheme for an Irregular Wireless Sensor Network Using Multidimensional Scaling [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2015
This paper proposes a distributed localization algorithm which can be applied to an irregular three-dimensional wireless sensor network, considering the algorithm accuracy and complexity. The algorithm uses clusters to eliminate the multihop distance errors.
