Multiferroic Pb(Fe2/3W1/3)O3-PbTiO3 (PFW-PT) ceramics were synthesized via a modified two-stage solid-state reaction. This method utilized Fe2WO6, prepared at a first-stage, which was subsequently reacted with a stoichiometric amount of PbO and TiO2 at ...

Persistent type-II multiferroicity in nanostructured MnWO4 ceramics [PDF]
We show that the type-II multiferroic properties of bulk MnWO4 are kept in nanostructured ceramics of 50 nm grain size prepared via spark plasma sintering (SPS). This means that ferroelectric polarization is robust against downsizing, which is at variance with standard ferroelectrics like BaTiO3.

The phase transitions in Sr3Sn2O7 are studied crystallographically, illustrating both the hybrid improper ferroelectric mechanism that acts in this material and the varying response of the symmetry‐breaking degrees of freedom with pressure and temperature.A variable‐temperature and pressure single‐crystal diffraction study of hybrid improper ...

Magnetic structure determination and refinement using FullProf
A description of the FullProf Suite of programs for magnetic structure determination is given. Different types of magnetic structure factors are discussed, and links to examples and tutorials for using the programs are provided. The study of magnetic structures from a crystallographic perspective remains a niche field, largely confined to physical ...

Enhanced magnetoelectric coupling in two-dimensional hybrid multiferroic heterostructures [PDF]
Magnetoelectric coupling in insulating multiferroic materials is invaluable for both fundamental research and multifunctional device applications. However, material realization remains a significant challenge. We employ first-principles calculations to predict an enhanced and stacking-robust magnetoelectric coupling in a multiferroic van der Waals ...
