The Diffractive Multifocal Intraocular Lens

The optical properties of a diffractive multifocal intraocular lens are discussed. The lens possesses two powers, and utilizes the `simultaneous vision' principle where two images are formed at different axial locations. Distant objects are correctly imaged by one power, and near objects are imaged by the other.
