Multifractal Analysis of Hydrologic Data Using Wavelet Methods and Fluctuation Analysis
We study the multifractal properties of water level with a high-frequency and massive time series using wavelet methods (estimation of Hurst exponents, multiscale diagram, and wavelet leaders for multifractal analysis (WLMF)) and multifractal detrended ...

Toward Interactions through Information in a Multifractal Paradigm
In a multifractal paradigm of motion, Shannon’s information functionality of a minimization principle induces multifractal–type Newtonian behaviors. The analysis of these behaviors through motion geodesics shows the fact that the center of the Newtonian ...

On Measures Resisting Multifractal Analysis [PDF]
Any ergodic measure of a smooth map on a compact manifold has a multifractal spectrum with one point - the dimension of the measure itself - at the diagonal. We will construct examples where this fails in the most drastic way for invariant measures invariant under linear maps of the circle.

The multifractal structure of shale pores significantly affects the occurrence of fluids and the permeability of shale reservoirs. However, there are few studies on the multifractal characteristics of shale pores that distinguish between organic and ...

Multifractal formalisms for multivariate analysis [PDF]
Multifractal analysis, that quantifies the fluctuations of regularities in time series or textures, has become a standard signal/image processing tool. It has been successfully used in a large variety of applicative contexts. Yet, successes are confined to the analysis of one signal or image at a time (univariate analysis). This is because multivariate

Multifractal analysis of earthquake catalogues [PDF]
SUMMARY We show that standard statistical analyses of earthquake Catalogues are not very useful tools for describing temporal variations of the seismic event clustering. A more appropriate approach is the rnultifractal analysis. In fact, if interarrival times between earthquakes are fractally distributed, this means that the behaviour of the catalogue ...

The multifractal properties of six acknowledged agro-meteorological parameters, such as reference evapotranspiration (ET0), wind speed (U), incoming solar radiation (SR), air temperature (T), air pressure (P), and relative air humidity (RH) of five ...

Analysis of Multifractals in Game Behaviors
AbstractWe study the diffusive process and the multifractal property in the Baduk. We are able to ascertain the superdiffusive process that the dispersion is proportional to tɛ with the scaling exponent ɛ =1.66±0.26 for our model. After simulating the multifractal behavior, we analyze the multifractal strength of three different segments.

Generalized energy inequalities and higher multifractal moments
We present a class of generalized energy inequalities and indicate their use in investigating higher multifractal moments, in particular Lq-dimensions of images of measures under Brownian processes, Lq-dimensions of almost self-affine measures, and moments
