Fractal Anatomy of Human Organs: A Narrative Review of Structure, Function, and Clinical Perspectives

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, Volume 39, Issue 2, Page 273-280, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Fractal geometry describes complex, self‐similar patterns that repeat across spatial scales and is increasingly recognized as relevant in anatomical research. Indeed, the fractal organization is consistently observed in respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, nervous, renal, hepatic, and dermatological systems.

Forecasting Carbon Prices: A Literature Review

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, Volume 45, Issue 2, Page 496-529, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Carbon emissions trading is utilized by a growing number of states as a significant tool for addressing greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), global warming problem and the climate crisis. Accurate forecasting of carbon prices is essential for effective policy design and investment strategies in climate change mitigation.

A Multifractal Formalism

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 1995
This is a long and carefully written paper examining up to what extent rigorous arguments can be provided for the so-called multifractal theory. The mathematical theory is based on Hausdorff and packing measures and their dimension notions on metric spaces.

Unsupervised Machine Learning-Based Singularity Models: A Case Study of the Taiwan Strait Basin

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
The identification of geochemical anomalies in oil and gas indicators is a fundamental task in oil and gas exploration, as the process of oil and gas accumulation is a low probability event.

Liquid Phase TEM of Diffusing Emulsion Droplets

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
Motion of emulsion droplets was observed via in situ liquid phase transmission electron microscopy. Analysis revealed that the motion is self‐affine and influenced by multiple stochastic processes, as well as a fractal landscape created by the electron beam.

On the properties of random multiplicative measures with the multipliers exponentially distributed

open access: yes, 2000
Under the formalism of annealed averaging of the partition function, a type of random multifractal measures with their multipliers satisfying exponentially distributed is investigated in detail.

ACCOUNTABILITY OF THE TEMPORAL FACTOR IN DESCRIBING FRACTAL OBJECTS FEATURES

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2015
The paper bases on numerous experimental factors to establish the peculiarity of multifractals. The authors provide some example of using fractal geometry in researching the features of artificial and natural objects with consideration of their self ...

Parameters of the Magnetic Flux inside Coronal Holes

open access: yes, 2009
Parameters of magnetic flux distribution inside low-latitude coronal holes (CHs) were analyzed. A statistical study of 44 CHs based on Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO)/MDI full disk magnetograms and SOHO/EIT 284\AA images showed that the density

The Quantitative Criteria Based on the Fractal Dimensions, Entropy and Lacunarity for the Spatial Distribution of Cancer Cell Nuclei Enable Identification of Low or High Aggressive Prostate Carcinomas

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2016
Background: Tumor grading, PSA concentration, and stage determine a risk of prostate cancer patients with accuracy of about 70%. An approach based on the fractal geometrical model was proposed to eliminate subjectivity from the evaluation of tumor ...

Is a hyperchaotic attractor superposition of two multifractals?

open access: yes, 2017
In the context of chaotic dynamical systems with exponential divergence of nearby trajectories in phase space, hyperchaos is defined as a state where there is divergence or stretching in at least two directions during the evolution of the system.
