Sodium alginate was modified with EDC/NHS for the immobilization of Yacon peel peroxidase, resulting in a novel biocatalyst for the oxidation of 2,4‐dichlorophenol. Abstract Yacon (Smallanthus sonchifolius) roots are emerging as an alternative source of peroxidase. This study aimed to extract, immobilize, and characterize the peroxidase from Yacon peel,

A note on set-valued Henstock--McShane integral in Banach (lattice) space setting [PDF]
We study Henstock-type integrals for functions defined in a Radon measure space and taking values in a Banach lattice $X$. Both the single-valued case and the multivalued one are considered (in the last case mainly $cwk(X)$-valued mappings are discussed).

Polymer‐dispersed liquid crystals (PDLCs) are electro‐optical functional materials capable of switching between light‐transmitting and light‐scattering states. We successfully fabricated a PDLC for the first time using ferroelectric nematic liquid crystal (FNLC) with high polar and spontaneous polarization.

Multifunctional agriculture and multifunctional landscapes — land use as an interface [PDF]
In contemporary sciences dealing with cultural landscapes, the concept of multifunctionality has gained increasing attention in the last decade. The scientific literature displays several attempts to frame the concept (e.g DeVries 2000; Anon 2001; de Groot et al. 2002) but there is much frustration regarding proper sets of broadly based definitions and

A Homochiral Multifunctional Metal-Organic Framework with Rod-Shaped Secondary Building Units
A new homochiral multifunctional metal-organic framework, [Zn2(CTBA)2·H2O] (JUC-112), was synthesized under solvothermal conditions, through the design of chiral ligand 4-(3-carboxy-2,2,3-trimethylcyclopentanecarboxamido) benzoic acid (H2CTBA) based on ...

This report describes the preparation of an antibacterial hydrogel sensor from a polyvinyl alcohol/silk fibroin double network, tannic acid‐coated liquid metal, and copper particles, with an ethanol post‐treatment using a multi‐level structural regulation strategy. The obtained hydrogel is evaluated in the context of respiratory monitoring.

Multiband Switchable Microwave Absorbing Metamaterials Based on Reconfigurable Kirigami–Origami
A reconfigurable metamaterial featuring tunable microwave‐absorbing and load‐bearing performance is proposed. Stretchable kirigami and bistable origami configurations are integrated as actuating components, and the synergistic deformation mechanisms are systematically analyzed.
