Nonlinear multigrid inversion [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings 2003 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.03CH37429), 2004
In this paper, we propose a general framework for nonlinear multigrid inversion applicable to any inverse problem in which the forward model can be naturally represented at differing resolutions. In multigrid inversion, the problem is adjusted to be solved at each resolution by using the solutions at both finer and coarser resolutions.

Numerical and Intelligent Modeling of MHD Casson Nanofluid Heat Transfer in Fractal Porous Cavities for Energy Systems

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study demonstrates that Al2O3–GNP hybrid nanofluids significantly enhance heat transfer in porous rectangular enclosures. Magnetic fields suppress velocity but raise temperature, while higher Biot and Brinkman numbers improve Nusselt number and entropy generation, highlighting effective thermal control in non‐Newtonian HNF systems.

The numerical treatment of curved boundary surfaces in an unfitted grid formulation for computational fluid dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In this thesis a new Cartesian cut-cell scheme has been presented which solves the in- compressible Navier-Stokes equations using a finite volume approach and a staggered grid.

A numerical solution of parabolic quasi-variational inequality nonlinear using Newton-multigrid method [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Numerical Analysis and Optimization
In this article, we apply three numerical methods to study the L∞-convergence of the Newton-multigrid method for parabolic quasi-variational inequalities with a nonlinear right-hand side.

EVSS‐Based Simulation Techniques for the Viscoelastic Fluids With Pure Polymer Melts Using Three‐Field Approach

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, Volume 98, Issue 4, Page 492-509, April 2026.
This paper presents a finite element method for simulating highly viscoelastic flows of pure polymer melts using the Elastic Viscous Stress Splitting formulation. The method avoids higher‐order derivatives in the weak formulation by reformulating the convective term in the constitutive equation.

Multigrid optimization in applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Iterative techniques are a key methodology for the numerical solution of optimization problems in differential equations. In two practical application problems with different characteristics, this paper shows, how multigrid methods can be applied ...

Automated Cryo‐EM and Supervised Machine Learning Enable Reproducible Characterization of Extracellular Vesicles and Co‐Isolating Particles

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
Automated cryo‐electron microscopy enables high‐throughput and unbiased image acquisition, which, combined with supervised machine learning allows modelling and detection of lipid membranes and other structures, like lipoproteins. This integration provides a powerful approach for analysis of EV size and morphology, as well as sample purity assessment ...

Inverse Problem for the Nonlinear Convection–Diffusion Equation by Using the Multigrid Method and Constraint Data

open access: yesMathematics
In the article, we propose a combination method based on the multigrid method and constraint data to solve the inverse problem in the context of the nonlinear convection–diffusion equation in the multiphase porous media flow. The inverse problem consists

A NetCDF version of the two-dimensional energy balance model based on the full multigrid algorithm

open access: yesSoftwareX, 2017
A NetCDF version of the two-dimensional energy balance model based on the full multigrid method in Fortran is introduced for both pedagogical and research purposes. Based on the land–sea–ice distribution, orbital elements, greenhouse gases concentration,
