Robust Localization from Incomplete Local Information [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We consider the problem of localizing wireless devices in an ad-hoc network embedded in a d-dimensional Euclidean space. Obtaining a good estimation of where wireless devices are located is crucial in wireless network applications including environment ...

Measurement Parameters Optimized for Sequential Multilateration in Calibrating a Machine Tool with a DOE Method

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2016
Improving volumetric error compensation is one of the machine tool user’s key objectives. Smart compensation is bound to calibration accuracy. Calibration quality depends largely on its setup factors.

Multilateral subsidy games [PDF]

open access: yesEconomic Theory, 2008
This paper examines the rationale for multilateral agreements to limit investment subsidies. The welfare ranking of symmetric multilateral subsidy games is shown to depend on whether or not investment levels are ``friendly'', raising rival profits in total, and/or strategic complements, raising rival profits at the margin.

GICS, a new concept to enhance in-flight safety and security of commercial aviation [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
This paper presents a new concept of aircraft tracking based on a LEO constellation of small satellites, each of them carrying receiving and transmitting devices in order to check the integrity of the ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast ...

Secure positioning in wireless networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
So far, the problem of positioning in wireless networks has been studied mainly in a nonadversarial setting. In this paper, we analyze the resistance of positioning techniques to position and distance spoofing attacks.

Opportunistic Localization Scheme Based on Linear Matrix Inequality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Enabling self-localization of mobile nodes is an important problem that has been widely studied in the literature. The general conclusions is that an accurate localization requires either sophisticated hardware (GPS, UWB, ultrasounds transceiver) or a ...

On ADS-B Sensor Placement for Secure Wide-Area Multilateration

open access: yesProceedings, 2020
As automatic dependent surveillance–broadcast (ADS-B) becomes more prevalent, the placement of on-ground sensors is vital for Air Traffic Control (ATC) to control the airspace.

A Tightly Coupled Fusion Positioning Method Based on Particle Filtering With Effective Particle Neighbourhood Attraction Optimisation

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
To address the limitations of existing wireless and inertial navigation systems, this paper proposes a high‐precision integrated positioning scheme based on particle filtering. The method introduces a high‐weight particle neighbourhood attraction mechanism to solve the common issue of particle degeneracy.
