Nanostructured Magnetoimpedance Multilayers

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2012
We describe our experience in design, fabrication and advanced characterization of highly sensitive [FeNi/Ti]- and [FeNi/Cu]n/Cu-based magnetoimpedance multilayers deposited by rf-sputtering onto rigid and flexible substrates. In order to avoid the transition into "transcritical" state and to keep both the low coercivity and magnetic softness for ...

Multilayer Networks

2018
The chapter “Multilayer Networks” introduces the topic of interconnected multilayer networks, analyzing them from a few fronts: types of multilayer networks, their mathematical description, the dynamics of random walks, and the centrality (versatility) of nodes.

Fractal multilayered superconductors

Physical Review B, 1987
Artificially prepared multilayerd films with periodic and fractal structure, consisting of amorphous superconducting and normal-metal layers have been made by magnetron sputtering. The structure has been confirmed directly by transmission electron micrographs of cross sections of the multilayers.

Polypeptide Multilayer Films

Biomacromolecules, 2005
Research on polypeptide multilayer films, coatings, and microcapsules is located at the intersection of several disciplines: synthetic polymer chemistry and physics, biomaterials science, and nanoscale engineering. The past few years have witnessed considerable growth in each of these areas.

Lipid multilayer gratings

Nature Nanotechnology, 2010
The interaction of electromagnetic waves with matter can be controlled by structuring the matter on the scale of the wavelength of light, and various photonic components have been made by structuring materials using top-down or bottom-up approaches.

Hemostatic Multilayer Coatings

Advanced Materials, 2011
Spray layer-by-layer assembly is used to create hemostatic films containing thrombin and tannic acid. The spray assembly technique enables coating of porous and absorbent commercial gelatin sponges with these films. Coated sponges are able to promote instantaneous hemostasis in a porcine spleen bleeding model.

Multilayer Nanowires and Miscellaneous Multilayer Products

2016
Multilayer Polymer Films have significantly enhanced performance properties, allowing films to be made thinner, stronger, and with better sealing properties and are used in a variety of industries. Recent progresses have opened up a range of new possibilities for Engineers and polymer scientists related to the field of polymer processing, polymer films,

Ordered Polyelectrolyte Multilayers. Rules Governing Layering in Organic Binary Multilayers

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2003
We study the growth and internal structure of polyelectrolyte multilayers obtained by combining three polyanions with nine polycations of the ionene family, of systematically varied chemical architecture. We find that, contrary to a generally held belief, ordered organic multilayers are by no way exceptional, provided one of the polyelectrolytes bears ...

Sectioning of multilayers to make a multilayer Laue lens

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2007
We report a process to fabricate multilayer Laue lenses (MLL’s) by sectioning and thinning multilayer films. This method can produce a linear zone plate structure with a very large ratio of zone depth to width (e.g., >1000), orders of magnitude larger than can be attained with photolithography.

Bifurcation of Elastic Multilayers

2013
The occurrence of a bifurcation in a multilayer structure during loading sets a limit on its deformability, and therefore represents an important factor in the design of composites. Since bifurcationis strongly influenced by the contact conditions at the interfaces between the layers, the mechanical modeling of these conditions is crucial.
