Progress toward a Soft X-ray Polarimeter

open access: yes, 2013
We are developing instrumentation for a telescope design capable of measuring linear X-ray polarization over a broad-band using conventional spectroscopic optics.

Weyl semimetal in a topological insulator multilayer. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2011
We propose a simple realization of the three-dimensional (3D) Weyl semimetal phase, utilizing a multilayer structure, composed of identical thin films of a magnetically doped 3D topological insulator, separated by ordinary-insulator spacer layers.

Vectorlike representation of multilayers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Optical Society of America A, 2004
We resort to the concept of turns to provide a geometrical representation of the action of any lossless multilayer, which can be considered as the analogous in the unit disk to the sliding vectors in Euclidean geometry. This construction clearly shows the peculiar effects arising in the composition of multilayers.

Unlocking the Power of Quercetin‐Encapsulated Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles: A Multifunctional Approach to Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGNs) are investigated for bone regeneration given their remarkable structural and functional properties. MBGNs are functionalized with Mn and Cu and incorporated with quercetin, a natural flavonoid exhibiting antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.

Giant recoverable energy storage density for lead-free SrTiO3-based dielectric films coated by the amorphous Al2O3 insulating layers

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics
SrTiO3 paraelectric materials, characterized by their linear polarization behavior, low polarization loss, and lead-free composition, are promising candidates for environmentally friendly energy storage dielectrics.

On the Impact Energy Absorption of an Advanced High‐Strength Bilayer Steel Composite Consisting of Carbide‐Free Bainitic Steel and High‐Mn Twinning‐Induced Plasticity Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Excellent combinations of strength and impact toughness are obtained in a bilayer composite of high‐strength carbide‐free bainitic (CFB) steel and high‐ductility twinning‐induced plasticity (TWIP) steel. The composite absorbs energy at small strains when the notch is placed on the TWIP side and at high strains when the notch is placed on the CFB side ...

Evaluation of fracture strain of aluminium film by multilayer bulge method

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu
As semiconductors become more capacitive and sophisticated, 3D packaging technology is gaining increased attention. Since multiple chips are stacked in such configurations, the wiring structure becomes more complex, leading to stress concentration.

Stress-driven instability in growing multilayer films

open access: yes, 2003
We investigate the stress-driven morphological instability of epitaxially growing multilayer films, which are coherent and dislocation-free. We construct a direct elastic analysis, from which we determine the elastic state of the system recursively in ...

Topological Superconductivity in Twisted Multilayer Graphene. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2018
We study a minimal Hubbard model for electronically driven superconductivity in a correlated flat miniband resulting from the superlattice modulation of a twisted graphene multilayer.
