The synthesis of multilayer coatings
USSR Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, 1974Abstract ON the basis of the idea of regularization, a correct formulation is given of the problem of synthesizing multilayer optical systems with a given transmittance. Examples are given of the synthesis of some important practical systems.

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2005
A multilayer coating of Mo∕Si is usually used for space science in the spectral range of extreme ultraviolet, especially for He-II (30.4nm) radiation, because it is highly stable under vacuum and atmosphere. The fairly high reflectivity of 15%–20% is achieved.

Polyelectrolyte multilayer coatings for implant osseointegration
13th IEEE International Conference on BioInformatics and BioEngineering, 2013The number of arthroplasties is rapidly increasing, however most materials used for such applications lack in osseointegration. The improvement of the bone/implant interface has received great attention for many years, with special reference to titanium-based implants.

Highly reflective multilayer (ML) coatings deposited on precisely polished mirror substrates have enabled imaging at EUV and x-ray wavelengths at near-normal angles of incidence. These ML films essentially represent synthetic Bragg crystals made of alternating layers of materials, where the constructive interference of light between the layers results ...

Parameters for optimization of multilayer antireflection coatings
Applied Optics, 1979The model of all-dielectric Fabry-Perot interference filters having two partial reflectors and a spacing layer used for multilayer antireflection coatings is shown to have two free parameters which can be used for optimization. The first parameter is the polar angle on the iso-reflectance circle in the plane of the real and imaginary parts of the ...

Characterization of Multilayer Anti-Fog Coatings
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2011Fog formation on transparent substrates constitutes a major challenge in several optical applications requiring excellent light transmission characteristics. Anti-fog coatings are hydrophilic, enabling water to spread uniformly on the surface rather than form dispersed droplets.
