Numerical Approaches for the Analysis of Glass Facades Under Seismic Loads

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering and Resilience, EarlyView.
Glass facades have gained more popularity due to their highly impacting esthetic and sustainable applications. However, their constitutive glass components are rather vulnerable and need proper analysis strategies to design them in efficient structural terms, especially against extreme loads, such as earthquakes.

Effect of Prestressing Multilayer Steel Armor on Its Impact Resistance to Blunt Rigid Projectiles

open access: yesInternational Conference on Aerospace Sciences and Aviation Technology, 2017
This paper investigates numerically the enhancement of impact resistance of multiplayer steel armor to rigid and blunt projectiles. The monolithic armor always possesses higher ballistic resistance than the multilayer one of the same weight and areal density. In this work, the monolithic Weldox 460E steel armor is divided into three layers.
