Introduction - Multilevel Analysis

Bulletin of Sociological Methodology/Bulletin de Méthodologie Sociologique, 1996
The authors of this article, who are also the guest editors for this issue on multilevel analysis, give an overview and brief history of multilevel analysis and present the following four research articles. Multilevel Analysis - Overview. Methods. History.

Multilevel Model Prediction

Psychometrika, 2006
Multilevel models are proven tools in social research for modeling complex, hierarchical systems. In multilevel modeling, statistical inference is based largely on quantification of random variables. This paper distinguishes among three types of random variables in multilevel modeling—model disturbances, random coefficients, and future response ...

Multilevel matrix converter

2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Actual Problems of Electronics Instrument Engineering (APEIE), 2012
This article describes a new topology of Matrix Converters with improved conversion and harmonic factors. The output voltage generation techniques are observed and basic states of the proposed circle are given and explained bellow.

Multilevel governance or multilevel government?

The British Journal of Politics and International Relations, 2020
The commentary returns to the beginning of the career of multilevel governance as a distinct perspective on the European Union and European integration. At the time, multilevel governance allowed a generation of students to overcome the stylised debates between Liberal Intergovernmentalism and Neofunctionalism on how to best capture the ‘nature of the

Multilevel circuit partitioning

Proceedings of the 34th annual conference on Design automation conference - DAC '97, 1997
Recent work has illustrated the promise ofmultilevel approaches for partitioning large circuits. Multilevel partitioningrecursively clusters the instance until its size is smallerthan a given threshold, then unclusters the instance while applyinga partitioning refinement algorithm. Our multilevel partitioner usesa new technique to control the number of

Multilevel chop technique

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2011
It is difficult to completely divide a hard nucleus. Excessive force is required, which may inadvertently lead to capsular bag distortion and cause stress to the zonules. We describe a chop technique that enables the surgeon to consistently achieve complete division of brunescent and black cataracts.

Multilevel governance

2018
This short essay gives an overview of the origin of the concept of 'multi-level governance' and of the debates that surround it. It established linkages with the more familiar notions of intergovernmental relations and federalism and gives instances of the policy areas in which it is applied.

Multilevel schema integration

1994
We present a methodology for data schema integration, able to merge a set of schemas and the top-down chains of refinement planes produced during their design. The result of this process, that we call multilevel integration, is an integrated schema plus an associated top-down chain of schemas.

Multilevel Optimized Schwarz Methods

SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2020
This paper defines a two-level optimized Schwarz method (OSM) for elliptic partial differential equations, which solves the coarse space problem on a coarse mesh. A local mode convergence analysis is given both for overlapping and nonoverlapping decompositions, which also suggests how to choose the optimized transmission conditions.
