Multilevel chop technique

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2011
It is difficult to completely divide a hard nucleus. Excessive force is required, which may inadvertently lead to capsular bag distortion and cause stress to the zonules. We describe a chop technique that enables the surgeon to consistently achieve complete division of brunescent and black cataracts.

Multilevel governance

2018
This short essay gives an overview of the origin of the concept of 'multi-level governance' and of the debates that surround it. It established linkages with the more familiar notions of intergovernmental relations and federalism and gives instances of the policy areas in which it is applied.

Multilevel schema integration

1994
We present a methodology for data schema integration, able to merge a set of schemas and the top-down chains of refinement planes produced during their design. The result of this process, that we call multilevel integration, is an integrated schema plus an associated top-down chain of schemas.

Multilevel Optimized Schwarz Methods

SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2020
This paper defines a two-level optimized Schwarz method (OSM) for elliptic partial differential equations, which solves the coarse space problem on a coarse mesh. A local mode convergence analysis is given both for overlapping and nonoverlapping decompositions, which also suggests how to choose the optimized transmission conditions.

Multilevel Exemplar Theory

Cognitive Science, 2010
AbstractThis paper presents recent research that provides an overarching model of exemplar theory capable of explaining phenomena across the phonetic and syntactic strata. The model represents a unique exemplar‐based account of constituency interactions encompassing both linguistic domains.

Multilevel Dynamic Games

Journal of Cybernetics, 1973
Von Neumann and Morgenstern [1] were the first to use modern mathematics for constructing a fairly complete theory describing conflict-type situations. This led to a new and still rapidly developing branch of mathematics, namely the theory of games. In a conflict situation we have the participation of several active sides with different interests, able

Multilevel component analysis

British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, 2006
A general framework for the exploratory component analysis of multilevel data (MLCA) is proposed. In this framework, a separate component model is specified for each group of objects at a certain level. The similarities between the groups of objects at a given level can be expressed by imposing constraints on component models of the groups using the ...

Multilevel Hierarchical Matrices

SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, 2006
This paper deals with a multilevel construction of hierarchical matrix approximations to the inverses of finite element stiffness matrices. Given a sequence of discretizations Aℓxℓ = f ℓ, ℓ = 0,..., n, where A0x0 = f 0 denotes the coarse grid problem, we will compute A0-1 exactly and then use interpolation to obtain an H-matrix approximation Aℓ+1-H ...

Multilevel Cervical Spondylosis

Neurosurgery Clinics of North America, 2006
Multilevel cervical spondylosis is a common disorder encountered by most actively practicing spine surgeons. Patients can present with a combination of complaints, including mechanical neck pain, radiculopathy, and myelopathy. A comprehensive evaluation is required for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
