Definition and Computation of Tensor‐Based Generalized Function Composition
ABSTRACT Functions are fundamental to mathematics as they offer a structured and analytical framework to express relations between variables. While scalar and matrix‐based functions are well‐established, higher‐order tensor‐based functions have not been as extensively explored.

Cryptanalysis of GGH15 Multilinear Maps [PDF]
We describe a cryptanalysis of the GGH15 multilinear maps. Our attack breaks the multipartite key-agreement protocol in polynomial time by generating an equivalent user private key; it also applies to GGH15 with safeguards. We also describe attacks against variants of the GGH13 multilinear maps proposed by Halevi ePrint 2015/866 aiming at supporting ...

ABSTRACT Negative transfer continues to limit the benefits of multi‐task learning (MTL) in harmful language detection, where related tasks must share representations without diluting task‐specific nuances. We introduce task awareness (TA), a methodological framework that explicitly conditions MTL models on the task they must solve.

Automorphism groups of multilinear mappings
Let V be a vector space of dimension n over an algebraically closed field. Let \(\theta\) be a multilinear mapping from the direct product of r copies of V into V itself, \(r\geq 2\), and set \[ Aut \theta =\{\phi \in GL(V)| \quad \theta(x_ 1,...,x_ r)^{\phi}=\theta(x_ 1\!^{\phi},...,x_ r\!^{\phi})\quad for\quad all\quad x_ 1,...,x_ r\in V ...

Jordan homomorphisms and T‐ideals
Abstract Let A$A$ and B$B$ be associative algebras over a field F$F$ with char(F)≠2${\rm char}(F)\ne 2$. Our first main result states that if A$A$ is unital and equal to its commutator ideal, then every Jordan epimorphism φ:A→B$\varphi:A\rightarrow B$ is the sum of a homomorphism and an antihomomorphism. Our second main result concerns (not necessarily

Realizability of multilinear input/output maps
Abstract This paper examines the realization theory of multilinear input/output maps. It is shown that the existence of a transfer function representation with separable denominator does not guarantee finite state realizability as in the linear and bilinear cases. Conditions for quasi-reachability of a class of multilinear realizations are demonstrated

Tensor network complexity of multilinear maps
We study tensor networks as a model of arithmetic computation for evaluating multilinear maps. These capture any algorithm based on low border rank tensor decompositions, such as O(nω+ϵ) time matrix multiplication, and in addition many other algorithms such as O(nlog n) time discrete Fourier transform and O∗(2n) time for computing the permanent of a ...

Climate Change Alters Teleconnections
Abstract Internal modes of climate variability, such as El Niño and the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO), can have strong influences upon distant weather patterns, effects that are referred to as “teleconnections.” The extent to which anthropogenic climate change has and will continue to affect these teleconnections, however, remains uncertain.
