Fully coupled numerical simulation of fire in tunnels: From fire scenario to structural response
In this paper we present an efficient tool for simulation of a fire scenario in a tunnel. The strategy adopted is based on a 3D-2D coupling technique between the fluid domain and the solid one.

This study introduces a dual‐regulation strategy utilizing a Mn‐doped Co3O4 support to enhance the activity and stability of low‐loading IrO2 catalysts for acidic water oxidation. Mn induces strong Mn─O covalency to reinforce the spinel lattice and activates Ir sites via interfacial electron transfer.

Mixing‐Driven Defects and Composition Evolution in Multi‐Material Metal Additive Manufacturing
Operando synchrotron X‐ray imaging coupled with high‐fidelity multiphysics modeling uncovers how inter‐material mixing reshapes keyhole dynamics and drives distinct pore‐formation pathways in multi‐material laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Composition‐dependent instabilities trigger defects, whereas rescanning suppresses porosity and homogenizes Cu ...

Wide Temperature Zero Thermal Expansion in Al Matrix Composites with High Thermal Conductivity
Strain engineering strategy is implemented on the negative thermal expansion (NTE) phase Zn1.6Mg0.4P2O7 within composites, where Al matrix‐induced compressive strain drives uniform polyhedral and unit cell evolution, thereby enabling broad and consistent thermal compensation efficacy and obtaining good thermal performance.

The strengthened EMSI in Pd/CoN‐Co4N induces electronic rearrangement, generating abundant Pd0 species in situ, modulating the Pd d‐band center to enhance O2 adsorption and MEK activation. Concurrently, it creates numerous Lewis acid sites that preferentially adsorb poisons and shield the active sites.

A compartmentalized model of multiphase chemical kinetics [PDF]
There are significant challenges in predicting multiphase chemical kinetics due to the complex coupling of reaction and mass transport across a phase boundary (i.e., interface). Here, we describe a framework for predicting multiphase kinetics that embeds
