Vectorial Control of a Multiphase Induction Machine for Electronic Pole Commutation
2024 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion (SPEEDAM)This paper investigates the multiphase induction machine ability to changes its magnetic field polarity by modi-fying the supply sequence, i.e. supplying different stator Park plane. Because the first space harmonic representation for a given sequence is

Multiphase Open-End Winding Induction Machine Drive With the Floating Capacitor
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2020A comprehensive control scheme is presented for the multiphase open-end winding induction machine drive topology, where the main inverter (MI) and floating inverter (FI) are supplied by a dc power source and a capacitor, respectively.

Fault-tolerant control of multiphase induction machine drives based on virtual winding method
2017 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo (ITEC), 2017Multiphase drives have been proposed in high power safety-critical applications because of their fault-tolerant advantage without needing any extra hardware. Traditional fault-tolerant control methods mainly are mainly focused on the optimized current control with asymmetrical machine model.

The paper presents the experimental testing of two variants of scaled prototype (10 kW) of a four-three-phase fault tolerant induction machine to be installed on the high pressure shaft of an open rotor jet engine. The two machines have the same overall dimensions, but one machine adopts a conventional magnetic core made of thin laminated FeSi alloy ...

Feedback Control of Multiphase Induction Machines With Backstepping Technique
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2020This article presents the control possibility of five-phase induction machines. In the proposed solution, the machine model vector form is not transformed to the ( dq )-coordinate system, that is connected to the rotor flux vector, but utilizes the stationary system (α β ).

Pulsating torque and losses in multiphase induction machines
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2002In this paper, the authors take a high-level look at multiphase induction machines in order to examine those aspects that are not design specific. They show that for a machine in which the only design variable is the phase number; the main target for loss reduction is the stator copper loss, which by the use of more than three phases may be attenuate ...

Multiphase Load-flow Solution and Initialization of Induction Machines
2018 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM), 2018This paper presents a new method to model induction machines (IMs) in multiphase load-flow calculations. Fast convergence of the load-flow solution is achieved using an iterative Newton method in the modified-augmented-nodal-analysis (MANA) formulation. The multiphase modeling approach allows accounting for unbalanced networks.
