Recent Progress on Flexible Multimodal Sensors: Decoupling Strategies, Fabrication and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this review, we establish a tripartite decoupling framework for flexible multimodal sensors, which elucidates the underlying principles of signal crosstalk and their solutions through material design, structural engineering, and AI algorithms. We also demonstrate its potential applications across environmental monitoring, health monitoring, human ...

Modeling and evaluation of magnetic fluid deformable mirror with dual-layer actuators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optomechatronics, 2019
In this paper, a rectangular magnetic fluid deformable mirror (MFDM) with dual-layer actuators is proposed, which is designed to improve the correction performance for full-order aberrations.

Emergent Freestanding Complex Oxide Membranes for Multifunctional Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review surveys freestanding oxide membranes and covers fabrication and three pathways for studies and devices: strain‐free and strained membranes, and van der Waals‐integrated heterostructures. We show how coupled oxide responses map onto these routes and cross‐couple to expand behaviors.

Ultra‐Sensitive Nanofiber‐Based Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Energy Harvesting and Self‐Powered Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A multidimensional molecular strategy optimizes the tribonegative layer by electrospinning PVDF‐HFP for dipole alignment and crystallinity, followed by 2D borophene doping to enhance conductivity and charge trapping. Integrated with Nylon‐66 nanofibers, the composite device delivers a record sensitivity of 53.8 ± 1.2 V kPa−1 at 3 Hz, enabling ultra ...

Numerical modelling of multiphysics couplings and strain localization

open access: yes, 2016
Rupture in geomaterials is often preceded by a localization of the deformations within thin bands. The strain localization is therefore an important process, which has been studied both experimentally and theoretically. This chapter summarizes the main observations on localized phenomena and proposes numerical tools to characterize localization ...

Tunable Plasmonic Response of Silver Nanoparticles Entangled in Detonation Nanodiamond Network via Colloidal Self‐Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Detonation nanodiamonds form a network that entangles silver nanoparticles into stable nanocomplexes. The structure can fine‐tune and enhance plasmonic absorption through nearfield electromagnetic interactions but prevents silver particle aggregation. The study shows how the arrangement and concentration of particles affect light absorption, offering a

Block-Structured Operator Inference for Coupled Multiphysics Model Reduction

open access: yesAIAA Journal
This paper presents a block-structured formulation of Operator Inference as a way to learn structured reduced-order models for multiphysics systems. The approach specifies the governing equation structure for each physics component and the structure of the coupling terms.
