Amplifier-Aware Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Power Allocation
We propose multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmitter power allocation which takes dissipation in the power amplifiers into account. We derive the equations of the general problem with full channel state information (CSI), discuss its challenges, and supply solutions in two special cases, namely for a multiple-input single-output channel with a ...

A reconfigurable multiple-input multiple-output communication system
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2008In this paper, we present a theoretical analysis on the gains offered by a reconfigurable multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system using orthogonal space-time block codes (OSTBCs) and reconfigurable antennas at the receiver only. The proposed system using reconfigurable antennas selects the optimal radiation state of the receive antennas in which ...

Determining the characteristics of systems with multiple inputs and multiple outputs
Automatic Control and Computer Sciences, 2007A simple and computationally efficient method of determining the transfer function and other characteristics of systems with multiple inputs and multiple outputs (MIMO systems) described by autoregression equations is proposed. The method is based on the use of the discrete Fourier transformation.

Multiple-input - multiple-output measurements and modeling in Manhattan
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2003Narrowband multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) measurements using 16 transmitters and 16 receivers at 2.11 GHz were carried out in Manhattan. High capacities were found for full, as well as smaller array configurations, all within 80% of the fully scattering channel capacity. Correlation model parameters are derived from data.

Capacity of the Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output Poisson Channel
Proceedings IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory,, 2003We examine the Shannon capacity of the single-user, multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) Poisson channel with peak and average transmit power constraints. We derive upper and lower bounds on the capacity that coincide in a number of special cases.

On the capacity of multiple input multiple output broadcast channels
2002 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Proceedings. ICC 2002 (Cat. No.02CH37333), 2003We consider a multiuser multiple input multiple output (MIMO) Gaussian broadcast channel (BC), where the transmitter and receivers have multiple antennas. Since the MIMO broadcast channel is in general a non-degraded broadcast channel, its capacity region remains an unsolved problem.

Macrocell multiple-input multiple-output system analysis
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2006We develop a semi-deterministic semi-stochastic channel model for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system under the macrocell environment with local-to-mobile and local-to-base scatterers. We show that employing closely-spaced antennas (e.g., phased array) at the base station is capable of achieving diversity via the local-to-base scatterers ...

Digital prefiltering for multiple-input, multiple-output receivers
ICC 2001. IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Record (Cat. No.01CH37240), 2002The whitened matched filter (WMF) and the finite-length feed-forward filter (FFF) of a minimum mean-squared error decision feedback equalizer are compared for use as digital prefilters in a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) receiver front-end. For systems that are single-input, single-output (SISO), existing literature has shown the FFF approaches

Polarization characteristics of multiple-input multiple-output channels
2008 IEEE 19th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2008In this paper, we investigate the polarization characteristics of the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels. The cross polarization discrimination (XPD) is found to change over time, while its variation in frequency domain is relatively small. The probability density function (PDF) of the XPD follows a Gaussian distribution.

Multiple-Input Multiple-Output SAR
2017For the conventional SAR, the swath width and azimuth resolution are contradictions because of the limitations of minimum antenna area, so they cannot be improved simultaneously.
