Optical MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) Communication System

This project investigates the design of an Optical MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) Communication System to improve data throughput and reliability in optical wireless networks. The system utilizes multiple optical transmitters and receivers for enhanced spatial multiplexing and bandwidth efficiency. Advanced modulation techniques, such as OOK and

Transmit/receive beamforming for bistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar

2014 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium (APSURSI), 2014
In this work, a coherent MIMO radar system operating in bistatic mode is considered. Orthogonal phase-coded waveforms are transmitted and the echo signals are digitally processed at the receiver. The simulation results show that the virtually formed bistatic-MIMO virtual array beampattern can achieve the optimal processing gain in the target direction.

Joint transmitter-receiver optimization for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems

The 57th IEEE Semiannual Vehicular Technology Conference, 2003. VTC 2003-Spring., 2004
Multiple transmit (Tx) and multiple receive (Rx) antenna systems, referred to as multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems, have been proposed to achieve higher data rates in wireless communication systems. In this paper, we investigate joint optimization of transmitter and receiver for MIMO system when the channel information is available at both ...

A Generalized Space–Time Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Channel Model

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2004
This paper presents a generalized multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel modeling technique for link level and system level simulations. The model combines the correlation approach and wave superposition approach to achieve both accuracy and efficiency.

Multiple input/multiple output (MIMO) equalization for space-time block coding

1999 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers and Signal Processing (PACRIM 1999). Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.99CH36368), 2003
In this paper, we propose to combine space-time block codes (ST-BC) with multiple input multiple output equalizer (MIMO-EQ) for achieving transmit diversity in a frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel. In the proposed system, MIMO-EQ equalizes the channel into a temporal intersymbol interference (ISI)-free channel, and then a simple linear ...

Mutual Information of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Transmission Schemes

International Journal of Wireless Information Networks, 2005
We analyze the mutual information of some common multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission schemes. Whereas most capacity evaluations are done under the assumption of Gaussian transmit symbols, we take into account restrictions on the transmit symbol alphabet and analyze real world signal constellations.

Quality Assessment of Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Wireless Systems

2019
Massive-MIMO is an exciting and attractive technique enabler for upcoming 5G transmission systems due to the reason that it provides numerous orders of throughput and energy efficiency (EE) gains over recent LTE and LTE-Advanced systems. Massive-MIMO is a multiuser MIMO technique in which ‘K’ single antenna user equipments (UE’s) are treated ...
