Transmit/receive beamforming for bistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar
2014 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium (APSURSI), 2014In this work, a coherent MIMO radar system operating in bistatic mode is considered. Orthogonal phase-coded waveforms are transmitted and the echo signals are digitally processed at the receiver. The simulation results show that the virtually formed bistatic-MIMO virtual array beampattern can achieve the optimal processing gain in the target direction.

Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar and imaging: degrees of freedom and resolution
The Thrity-Seventh Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems & Computers, 2003, 2004In this paper, radar is discussed in the context of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system model. A comparison is made between MIMO wireless communication and MIMO radar. Examples are given showing that many traditional radar approaches can be interpreted within a MIMO context. Furthermore, exploiting this MIMO perspective, useful extensions to

Robust Design of Transmit/Receive Beamforming for Multiple-input Multiple-output Radar
2019 IEEE International Conference on Signal, Information and Data Processing (ICSIDP), 2019The transmit/receive robust adaptive beamformer design of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar system is studied in this paper. We first construct the interference covariance matrix via a shrink-based approach. Then, the desired transmit-receive steering vector (SV) is estimated through maximizing the output power upon the cooperative ...

Learning based multiple input multiple output radar imaging [PDF]
Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) radars, with their unique antenna configuration, offer superior angular resolution by forming a “virtual array” withfewer antennas compared to phased-array radars. Through digital beamformingtechniques, MIMO radars can generate 3D radar images of their surroundingswithout the need for mechanical rotation ...

LOCALIZATION, TRACKING, AND ANTENNA ALLOCATION IN MULTIPLE-INPUT MULTIPLE-OUTPUT RADARS
2012This thesis concerns with the localization, tracking, and sensor management in the Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radar systems. The collocated and widely-separated MIMO radars are separately discussed and the signal models are derived for both structures.
