New solitary wave and multiple soliton solutions for fifth order nonlinear evolution equation with time variable coefficients

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
In this paper, we investigate the multiple soliton solutions and multiple singular soliton solutions of a class of the fifth order nonlinear evolution equation with variable coefficients of t using the simplified bilinear method based on a transformation

Observation of asymmetric solitons in waveguide arrays with refractive index gradient

open access: yes, 2014
We study light propagation in waveguide arrays made in Kerr nonlinear media with a transverse refractive index gradient, and we find that the presence of the refractive index gradient leads to the appearance of a number of new soliton families.

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 5, Page 1151-1298, May 2026.
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

Ultra‐Flat Watt‐Level All‐Fiber Supercontinuum Generation With 3‐dB Spectral Bandwidth Spanning From 414 to 1860 nm

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 7, 13 April 2026.
We experimentally achieve an ultraflat, 4.35‐W all‐fiber supercontinuum spanning from 414 to 1860 nm (3‐dB bandwidth). To our knowledge, this represents the broadest octave‐spanning, visible‐to‐NIR, ultraflat SC source ever reported, which also exhibits maximal visible band coverage. ABSTRACT We propose a method for generating ultraflat supercontinuum (

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 27, 2 April 2026.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Swampland: The Cosmologist's Handbook to the String‐Theoretical Swampland Programme

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract String theory has strong implications for cosmology, implying the absence of a cosmological constant, ruling out single‐field slow‐roll inflation, and that black holes decay. The origins of these statements are elucidated within the string‐theoretical swampland programme.

Investigating the Origin of Topological‐Hall‐Like Resistivity in Zn‐Doped Mn2Sb Ferrimagnet

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Skyrmions and other chiral spin textures have been extensively studied as potential building blocks for novel spintronic devices. Hall‐resistivity anomalies that deviate from magnetization scaling, known as the topological Hall effect, have been widely employed as evidence for the presence of chiral spin textures in magnetic materials. However,
