Multiple Target, Multiple Type Filtering in the RFS Framework

open access: yes, 2019
A Multiple Target, Multiple Type Filtering (MTMTF) algorithm is developed using Random Finite Set (RFS) theory. First, we extend the standard Probability Hypothesis Density (PHD) filter for multiple types of targets, each with distinct detection ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Preoperative computed tomography-guided soft hook-wire localization for multiple pulmonary nodules

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundWhile there have been prior reports on pulmonary nodule (PN) localization through computed tomography (CT)-guided soft hook-wire (SHW) placement, there remains a dearth of studies specifically focused on the CT-guided SHW localization of ...

Pure Exploration with Multiple Correct Answers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We determine the sample complexity of pure exploration bandit problems with multiple good answers. We derive a lower bound using a new game equilibrium argument.

Multiple targets for multiple sclerosis

open access: yesGenes & Diseases, 2015
Multiple sclerosis (MS), a leading cause of non-traumatic disability in young adults, is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS) associated with aberrant autoimmune responses. It has long been thought that therapeutic development should be centered on immunomodulatory agents.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.
