Neurourologic Abnormalities in Multiple Sclerosis
Journal of Urology, 1982Multiple sclerosis is a demyelinating disease of the central nervous system, often producing abnormalities in sexual function and urinary control. Eighty-six patients with this disorder were referred to our neurourologic facilities for evaluation (45 women and 41 men). Symptomatic voiding dysfunction was present in 84 patients (97 per cent).

Visual abnormalities with multiple trauma
Surgical Neurology, 1984The diversity of pathogenetic mechanisms involved in posttraumatic visual impairment was reviewed in a study of the hospital records of 24 patients admitted with multiple injuries. Most major visual abnormalities occurred in young people (average age 33 years) who presented with a wide range of overall severity of injury (injury severity score 13-47 ...

Growth Abnormalities and Multiple Gestations
Seminars in Perinatology, 2008Growth abnormalities which include intrauterine growth restriction and weight discordance between twins are common in pregnancies complicated by multiple gestations and may be associated with poor perinatal outcomes. Knowledge of chorionicity is paramount when managing a multiple pregnancy. Monochorionic twins are at greater risk than dichorionic twins

Normal and abnormal growth of multiples
Seminars in Neonatology, 2002Growth curves of twins and triplets do not support a growth restriction patterns seen in singletons. At the same time that individual members of a twin or a triplet set may be smaller than singletons of the same gestational age, only a minority are indeed SGA by singleton standards. When comparing the entire 'fetal mass' of a multiple pregnancy to that

Abnormal protein patterns in multiple sclerosis
Neurochemical Research, 1979Sera from patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and those obtained from normal subjects are indistinguishable by regular 5% or 7% polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. However, 11 out of 15 MS sera examined by gradient polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis showed three distinct protein bands.

SMALL-BOWEL ABNORMALITIES IN MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS
The Lancet, 1976Jejunal biopsies were performed in 12 randomly chosen patients with multiple sclerosis. The jejunal mucosa was examined histologically, ultrastructurally, and by tissue immune techniques. Histology showed a normal mucosa in 7 patients, increased inflammatory-cell infiltration in 3, a partial villous atrophy in 1, and a subtotal villous atrophy in the ...

Stapedius Reflex Abnormalities in Multiple Sclerosis
International Journal of Audiology, 1975Thirteen patients suffering from multiple sclerosis were analyzed by a Madsen ZO 70 electroacoustic bridge connected to an electronystagmograph through an impedance adaptor. Threshold, amplitude, decay and difference limen of intensity (DLI) of the stapedius reflex were examined for the frequencies 500, 1 000, 2 000 and 4 000 Hz. The difference between

Patterns of Auditory Abnormality in Multiple Sclerosis
Seminars in Hearing, 1990This paper stresses the relatively high prevalence of auditory abnormality in multiple sclerosis. An auditory test battery consisting of the acoustic reflex (AR), the auditory brainstem response (ABR), the masking level difference (MLD) and speech audiometry (SA) was administered to 62 patients with diagnosed 'definite' multiple sclerosis.

Peripheral nerve abnormality in multiple sclerosis
Annals of Neurology, 1977AbstractBiopsy specimens of sural nerve from 10 patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), of whom only 1 was severely disabled, were assessed by morphometric techniques and compared to nerves from age‐matched controls. The frequency of abnormal teased fibers was increased in MS nerve, with many intenodes showing at least a 50% reduction in myelin ...

MULTIPLE STRESSORS AND THE CAUSE OF AMPHIBIAN ABNORMALITIES
Ecology, 2010The repeated occurrence of abnormal amphibians in nature points to ecological imbalance, yet identifying causes of these abnormalities has proved complex. Multiple studies have linked amphibian abnormalities to chemically contaminated areas, but inference about causal mechanisms is lacking.
