Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

The acquisition of the English dative alternation by Russian foreign language learners [PDF]
Ditransitive verbs include a “recipient” and a “theme” argument (in addition to the subject). The choice of putting one argument before the other (i.e., either recipient-theme, or theme-recipient) is associated with multiple discourse-pragmatic factors ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

The scaling of model test results to predict intake hot gas reingestion for STOVL aircraft with augmented vectored thrust engines [PDF]
The difficulties of modeling the complex recirculating flow fields produced by multiple jet STOVL aircraft close to the ground have led to extensive use of experimental model tests to predict intake Hot Gas Reingestion (HGR).

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Simple Stepwise Tests of Hypotheses and Multiple Comparisons
Summary: Holm's step-down [\textit{S. Holm}, Scand. J. Stat., Theory Appl. 6, 65--70 (1979; Zbl 0402.62058)] and Hochberg's step-up procedures [\textit{Y. Hochberg}, Biometrika 75, No. 4, 800--802 (1988; Zbl 0661.62067)] for tests of multiple hypotheses are simple to apply and are widely used.

Multiple imputation for the comparison of two screening tests in two-phase Alzheimer studies [PDF]
Two-phase designs are common in epidemiological studies of dementia, and especially in Alzheimer research. In the first phase, all subjects are screened using a common screening test(s), while in the second phase, only a subset of these subjects is ...
