Effect of multiple scattering is studied for cracks in the three-dimensional elastic body. The multiple scattering problem for cracks is formulated by the boundary integral equations. The Born series algorithm is introduced to solve the boundary integral equations.

A computational model for fibre-reinforced brittle materials in tension is developed. The model includes multiple cracking and strain-hardening processes, as well as single fracture and strain softening. The composite behaviour is derived from a single-fibre analysis by integrating over all possible fibre locations and orientations.
