This article develops a semi-supervised algorithm to address the challenging multi-source localization problem in a noisy and reverberant environment, using a spherical harmonics domain source feature of the relative harmonic coefficients . We present a comprehensive research of this source feature, including (i) an illustration confirming its sole ...

A new method for determining multiple harmonic source locations in a power distribution system
2010 IEEE International Conference on Power and Energy, 2010This paper presents a new technique for identifying the locations of multiple harmonic sources in a distribution system using independent component analysis and mutual information theory. Independent component analysis is applied for estimating the current profile of injected harmonic currents caused by the harmonic sources, while the mutual ...

In recent years, sparse representation techniques have been proposed for source localization using spherical microphone arrays (SMAs). However, the performance of these sparse representation techniques for SMAs degrades for speech source localization in the room environment due to sound reverberation.

This paper presents an effective methodology to identify the multiple harmonic sources along with their harmonic injection levels in a power system using optimally placed harmonic measurement devices (HMDs). Binary particle swarm optimization is used to find the optimal locations of HMDs to collect harmonic data.
