Existence and Multiplicity of Fast Homoclinic Solutions for a Class of Nonlinear Second-Order Nonautonomous Systems in a Weighted Sobolev Space [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2015
This paper is concerned with the following nonlinear second-order nonautonomous problem:ü(t)+q(t)u̇(t)-∇K(t,u(t))+∇W(t,u(t))=0, wheret∈R,u∈RN, andK,W∈C1(R×RN,R)are not periodic intandq:R→Ris a continuous function andQ(t)=∫0t‍q(s)dswithlim|t|→+∞⁡Q(t)=+∞.

Nonlinear Bifurcation and Numerical Analysis of Equilibria in Heated Curved Endoscopic Peristaltic Flow

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Bifurcation analysis constitutes a powerful tool for understanding transport flow phenomena arising from peristaltic motion in a curved heated endoscope. This approach is useful for assessing a peristaltic endoscope model in a curved tube. Bifurcation and dynamical analyses reveal heat transfer and entropy behavior at critical points.

Useful Public Spending, Taylor Principle, and Macroeconomic Instability

open access: yesJournal of Public Economic Theory, Volume 27, Issue 5, October 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper analyzes the stationary welfare and local stability implication of useful public spending in a discrete‐time one‐sector monetary economy with Taylor rule. Public spending, financed through a flat income tax, is useful and exerts externalities on production. In our economy, money is needed for transaction purposes.

Closed geodesics and the first Betti number

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 131, Issue 3, September 2025.
Abstract We prove that, on any closed manifold of dimension at least two with non‐zero first Betti number, a C∞$C^\infty$ generic Riemannian metric has infinitely many closed geodesics, and indeed closed geodesics of arbitrarily large length. We derive this existence result combining a theorem of Mañé together with the following new theorem of ...

Snake-to-isola transition and moving solitons via symmetry-breaking in discrete optical cavities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper continues an investigation into a one-dimensional lattice equation that models the light field in a system comprised of a periodic array of pumped optical cavities with saturable nonlinearity.

Equivariant singularity theory with distinguished parameters: Two case studies of resonant Hamiltonian systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We consider Hamiltonian systems near equilibrium that can be (formally) reduced to one degree of freedom. Spatio-temporal symmetries play a key role. The planar reduction is studied by equivariant singularity theory with distinguished parameters.

Multiplicity of Homoclinic Solutions for a Class of Nonperiodic Fourth-Order Differential Equations with General Perturbation [PDF]

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
In this paper, we investigate a class of nonperiodic fourth-order differential equations with general perturbation. By using the mountain pass theorem and the Ekeland variational principle, we obtain that such equations possess two homoclinic solutions. Recent results in the literature are generalized and significantly improved.

Protected Chaos in a Topological Lattice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 28, July 24, 2025.
Topological and chaotic dynamics are often considered incompatible, with one expected to dominate or disrupt the other. This work reveals that topological localization can persist even under strong chaotic dynamics and, counter‐intuitively, protect chaotic behavior.

Multiplicity of homoclinic solutions for second-order Hamiltonian systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
Summary: By using a modified function technique and variational methods, we establish the existence of infinitely many homoclinic solutions for a second-order Hamiltonian system \(\ddot{u}-L(t)u+F_u(t,u)=0\), for all \(t \in \mathbb R\), where no coercive condition for \(F(t,u)\) at infinity is imposed.

New existence and multiplicity of homoclinic solutions for second order non-autonomous systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2014
Summary: We study the second order non-autonomous system \[ \ddot{u}(t)+A\dot{u}(t)-L(t)u(t)+\nabla W(t,u(t))=0\; \forall t\in\mathbb{R}, \] where \(A\) is an antisymmetric \(N\times N\) constant matrix, \(L\in C(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R}^{N\times N})\) may not be uniformly positive definite for all \(t\in\mathbb{R}\), and \(W(t,u)\) is allowed to be sign ...
