Radio Vortex–Multiple-Input Multiple-Output Communication Systems With High Capacity
As a potential technique to improve channel capacity, orbital angular momentum has been developed in the radio field. In this paper, a novel radio vortex-multiple-input multiple-output (RV-MIMO) system is proposed to provide high capacity in free space ...

Semi-blind adaptive spatial equalisation for MIMO systems with high-order QAM signalling
This contribution investigates semi-blind adaptive spatial filtering or equalisation for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems that employ high-throughput quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signalling.

Outage Probability of Multiple-Input Single-Output (MISO) Systems with Delayed Feedback
We investigate the effect of feedback delay on the outage probability of multiple-input single-output (MISO) fading channels. Channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT) is a delayed version of the channel state information available at the ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

On the Performance of MIMO FSO Communications over Double Generalized Gamma Fading Channels
A major performance degrading factor in free space optical communication (FSO) systems is atmospheric turbulence. Spatial diversity techniques provide a promising approach to mitigate turbulence-induced fading.

Why human connection is the true metric of research success
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.
