Capacity of the Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output Poisson Channel
Proceedings IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory,, 2003We examine the Shannon capacity of the single-user, multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) Poisson channel with peak and average transmit power constraints. We derive upper and lower bounds on the capacity that coincide in a number of special cases.

On the capacity of multiple input multiple output broadcast channels
2002 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Proceedings. ICC 2002 (Cat. No.02CH37333), 2003We consider a multiuser multiple input multiple output (MIMO) Gaussian broadcast channel (BC), where the transmitter and receivers have multiple antennas. Since the MIMO broadcast channel is in general a non-degraded broadcast channel, its capacity region remains an unsolved problem.

Macrocell multiple-input multiple-output system analysis
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2006We develop a semi-deterministic semi-stochastic channel model for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system under the macrocell environment with local-to-mobile and local-to-base scatterers. We show that employing closely-spaced antennas (e.g., phased array) at the base station is capable of achieving diversity via the local-to-base scatterers ...

Digital prefiltering for multiple-input, multiple-output receivers
ICC 2001. IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Record (Cat. No.01CH37240), 2002The whitened matched filter (WMF) and the finite-length feed-forward filter (FFF) of a minimum mean-squared error decision feedback equalizer are compared for use as digital prefilters in a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) receiver front-end. For systems that are single-input, single-output (SISO), existing literature has shown the FFF approaches

Polarization characteristics of multiple-input multiple-output channels
2008 IEEE 19th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2008In this paper, we investigate the polarization characteristics of the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels. The cross polarization discrimination (XPD) is found to change over time, while its variation in frequency domain is relatively small. The probability density function (PDF) of the XPD follows a Gaussian distribution.

Verification of multiple input/multiple output business processes
Proceedings of the 2004 IEEE International Conference on Information Reuse and Integration, 2004. IRI 2004., 2005In many business process modelling situations using Petri nets, the resulting model does not have a single input place and a single output place. Therefore, the correctness of the model cannot be assessed within the existing frameworks, which are devised for workflow nets - a particular class of Petri nets with a single input place and a single output ...

Constrained detection for multiple-input multiple-output channels
GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005We develop a family of constrained detectors for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels by relaxing the maximum likelihood (ML) detection problem. Real constrained linear detectors and decision feedback detectors are proposed for real constellations by forcing the relaxed solution to be real.

Linear receivers for the multiple-input multiple-output multiple-access channel
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2006We consider a multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication system using code-division multiple access (CDMA) and multiuser detection to discriminate the different users. Our focus is on the CDMA uplink of a frequency-nonselective Rayleigh fading channel.

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Antennas
2023The advancement of antennas that can access high data speeds, and have higher gain, is largely responsible for the advancements in wireless technology. One such antenna called the multiple input multiple output (MIMO). This antenna has attracted the utmost attention of the researchers owing to its features like higher capacity, increased data rate, low

Multiple integration of input and output in the cortex
NeuroReport, 1996We inserted microelectrodes in eye movement-evoking cortices (EMECs) of cats and examined whether neurones in the EMECs received sensory input from guide signals and fired prior to saccades. The five EMECs were the medial wall of the hemisphere under the cruciate sulcus, the medical and lateral bank of the presylvian sulcus, the fundus of the coronal ...
