Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Directed search with stochastic resetting and multiple objectives

open access: yesJournal of Physics Communications
In the present study, the dynamic growth and contraction behavior of nucleated cells in source cells can be simulated as a mathematical process that combines elements such as directed search, stochastic resetting and delay.

Multiobjective Robust Control with HIFOO 2.0

open access: yes, 2009
Multiobjective control design is known to be a difficult problem both in theory and practice. Our approach is to search for locally optimal solutions of a nonsmooth optimization problem that is built to incorporate minimization objectives and constraints

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Evaluating the effectiveness of palm oil certification in delivering multiple sustainability objectives

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2018
Industrial oil palm plantations in South East Asia have caused significant biodiversity losses and perverse social outcomes. To address concerns over plantation practices and in an attempt to improve sustainability through market mechanisms, civil ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

A Note on Solvability Conditions for Multiple Objectives Linear Programming (MOLP) Problems

open access: yesJournal of Algorithms & Computational Technology, 2011
This paper investigates the advantages of using a simple linear programming problem with one unknown to show that whether the given multiple objectives linear programming (MOLP) problems is solvable or not.
