INTRAUTERINE INSEMINATION (IUI) AND MULTIPLE PREGNANCY

open access: yesZdravniški Vestnik, 2003
Background. Multiple pregnancies are relatively common complication of IUI following ovarian stimulation due to increased number of the preovulatory follicles in the procedure.

Legal Aspects of Iatrogenic Multiple Pregnancy [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fertility and Sterility, 2009
During Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) procedures, the transfer of a single embryo dramatically reduces the rate of multiple pregnancy. Proper information, therefore, should be delivered to patients before embryo transfer.

Effects of IGFBP4 deficiency on human preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation through the IGF1R/AKT pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

QUALITY OF BLASTOCYST IN VITRO AND MULTIPLE PREGNANCIES

open access: yesZdravniški Vestnik, 2003
Background. The blastocysts, obtained from in vitro fertilization, have different morphologic characteristics. The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of morphology of transferred blastocysts on pregnancy and multiple pregnancy rate. Methods ...

Factors that Influence The Occurrence of Multiple Pregnancies after Intracytoplasmic Injection Cycles with Two or Three Fresh Embryo Transfers [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fertility and Sterility, 2017
Background Multiple pregnancies are an important complication of assisted reproductive technology (ART). The present study aims to indentify the risk factors for multiple pregnancies independent of the number of transferred embryos. Materials and Methods

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Gestational complications and characteristics of the morphofunctional structure of the placental complex in women with multiple pregnancies

open access: yesКлинический разбор в общей медицине
Currently, the incidence of multiple pregnancies is 0.7–1.5%, and there is an increasing trend. This tendency is associated with assisted reproductive technologies. Aim.

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Structure–Function Decoupling of the Sensorimotor and Default Mode Networks in Black Americans With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe
