Multiple scattering limit in optical microscopy

open access: yes, 2017
Optical microscopy offers a unique insight of biological structures with a sub-micrometer resolution and a minimum invasiveness. However, the inhomogeneities of the specimen itself can induce multiple scattering of light and optical aberrations which ...

On the scattering length of the K^- d system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Multiple-scattering approximations to Faddeev calculations of the K^- d scattering length are reviewed and compared with published Kbar-N-N pi-Y-N fully reactive Faddeev calculations.

Theory of disorder-induced multiple coherent scattering in photonic crystal waveguides

open access: yes, 2010
We introduce a theoretical formalism to describe disorder-induced extrinsic scattering in slow-light photonic crystal waveguides. This work details and extends the optical scattering theory used in a recent \emph{Physical Review Letter} [M.

A Multiple Scattering-Based Technique for Isotopic Identification in Cosmic Rays

open access: yesParticles
Analyzing the isotopic composition of cosmic rays (CRs) provides valuable insights into the galactic environment and helps refine existing propagation models. A particular interest is devoted to secondary-to-primary ratios of light isotopic components of

Spectrum of Radiation from Rough Surfaces

open access: yes, 2011
Radiation from a charged particle travelling parallel to a rough surface has been considered. Spectral-angular intensity is calculated in the weak scattering regime.

Multiple Scattering Theory for Slow Neutrons (from thermal to ultracold)

open access: yes, 1999
The general theory of neutron scattering is presented, valid for the whole domain of slow neutrons from thermal to ultracold. Particular attention is given to multiple scattering which is the dominant process for ultracold neutrons (UCN). For thermal and

Low-energy electron diffraction from disordered surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
Model calculations are presented of L E E D intensities diffracted by a onedimensionally disordered overlayer adsorbed on a well ordered substrate. Multiple scattering amplitudes are calculated by an extension of Beeby's multiple scattering method ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Elastic Pion Scattering on the Deuteron in a Multiple Scattering Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Pion elastic scattering on deuterium is studied in the KMT multiple scattering approach developed in momentum space. Using a Paris wave function and the same methods and approximations as commonly used in pion scattering on heavier nuclei excellent ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
