MIDAS: Computer application for the identification of exact and inaccurate microsatellites in genomic sequences

open access: yesRevista Cubana de Informática Médica, 2019
Microsatellites are tandem repeat, frequent and diverse short sequences in the genomes of all species, constituting important markers in multiple areas of genomics-based research.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

NSPLformer: exploration of non-stationary progressively learning model for time series prediction

open access: yesScientific Reports
Although Transformers perform well in time series prediction, they struggle when dealing with real-world data where the joint distribution changes over time.

BiLSTM-MLAM: A Multi-Scale Time Series Prediction Model for Sensor Data Based on Bi-LSTM and Local Attention Mechanisms

open access: yesSensors
This paper introduces BiLSTM-MLAM, a novel multi-scale time series prediction model. Initially, the approach utilizes bidirectional long short-term memory to capture information from both forward and backward directions in time series data. Subsequently,

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

A flying ad-hoc network dataset for early time series classification of grey hole attacks

open access: yesScientific Data
Flying ad-hoc networks (FANETs) consist of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that rely on multi-hop routes for communication. These routes are particularly susceptible to grey hole attacks, necessitating swift and accurate defence to preserve the ...
