Integrative analysis of large scale transcriptome data draws a comprehensive landscape of Phaeodactylum tricornutum genome and evolutionary origin of diatoms

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Diatoms are one of the most successful and ecologically important groups of eukaryotic phytoplankton in the modern ocean. Deciphering their genomes is a key step towards better understanding of their biological innovations, evolutionary origins, and ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Measurement and modeling of indoor off-body channel in the 9.5~10.5 GHz band

open access: yes物联网学报, 2022
In order to explore the wireless propagation characteristics of high-frequency indoor off-body channel, off-body channel measurements were carried out on multiple typical indoor scenes in the 9.5~10.5 GHz frequency band.In terms of large-scale fading ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Expectation of a Multiplicative Functional under the Sine-Process

open access: yesFunctional Analysis and Its Applications
An explicit expression for the expected value of a regularized multiplicative functional under the sine-process is obtained by passing to the scaling limit in the Borodin-Okounkov-Geronimo-Case formula.

Harmonic Active Filter Using Multiplication Sine Function Method to Reduce Current Distortion

open access: yesEngineering, Technology & Applied Science Research
The use of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is unavoidable, especially in the industrial sector, where motor speed regulation is required to expedite production. VFDs are included in nonlinear loads, which, when in use, can cause the voltage and current of the source to differ.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Multiple UAVs Networking Oriented Consistent Cooperation Method Based on Adaptive Arithmetic Sine Cosine Optimization

open access: yesDrones
With the rapid development of the Internet of Things, the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) has quickly drawn considerable attention from the public. The cooperative unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)-assisted vehicular networks, as a part of IoV, has become an ...

Approximations by special values of multiple cosine and sine functions

open access: yes
Kurokawa and Koyama's multiple cosine function $\mathcal{C}_{r}(x)$ and Kurokawa's multiple sine function $S_{r}(x)$ are generalizations of the classical cosine and sine functions from their infinite product representations, respectively. For any fixed $x\in[0,\frac{1}{2})$, let $$B=\left\{\frac{\log\mathcal{C}_{r}(x)}π~~\bigg|~~r=1,2,3,\ldots\right\}$

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
