Abundant closed-form solutions and solitonic structures to an integrable fifth-order generalized nonlinear evolution equation in plasma physics

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
This paper investigates the evolution dynamics of closed-form solutions for a new integrable nonlinear fifth-order equation with spatial and temporal dispersion which describes shallow water waves moving in two directions.

Spatial storage of discrete dark solitons

open access: yes, 2015
The interaction between a mobile discrete dark soliton (DDS) and impurities in one-dimensional nonlinear (Kerr) photonic lattices is studied. We found that the scattering is an inelastic process where the DDS can be reflected or transmitted depending on ...

Multiple-soliton Solutions for Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics Research, 2015
Based on the scale transformation and the multiple exp-function method, the (3+1)-dimensional Boiti-Leon-Manna-Pempinelli (BLMP) equation and a generalized Shallow Water Equation have been solved. The exponential wave solutions which include one-wave, two-wave and three-wave solutions have been obtained. In addition, by comparing the solutions obtained

Evaluating the Diagnostic Utility of Spinal Ultrasound in Neonates With a Simple Sacral Dimple: An Eight‐Year Retrospective Study

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, EarlyView.
This study retrospectively analysed eight years of neonatal spinal ultrasound data from a major Australian children's hospital to assess the value of imaging for simple sacral dimples. Out of 448 scans, 195 were for an isolated simple dimple, and only two infants (1%) were found to have spinal dysraphism, both with other congenital anomalies.

Exploring the chaotic structure and soliton solutions for (3 + 1)-dimensional generalized Kadomtsev–Petviashvili model

open access: yesScientific Reports
The study of the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) model is widely used for simulating several scientific phenomena, including the evolution of water wave surfaces, the processes of soliton diffusion, and the electromagnetic field of transmission.

Interaction Properties of the Periodic and Step-like Solutions of the Double-Sine-Gordon Equation

open access: yes, 2009
The periodic and step-like solutions of the double-Sine-Gordon equation are investigated, with different initial conditions and for various values of the potential parameter $\epsilon$. We plot energy and force diagrams, as functions of the inter-soliton

From Evidence to Practice: Implementation and Evaluation of the Discontinuation of Patient Contact Shielding in Paediatric Radiography

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, EarlyView.
This implementation science study evaluated the removal of patient contact shielding in paediatric radiography at a quaternary Australian hospital. Guided by the COM‐B model and Theoretical Domains Framework, the policy change was implemented with minimal disruption. Fewer than 0.5% of families raised any concerns, demonstrating that even long‐standing

Observation of Linear and Nonlinear Light Trapping on Topological Dislocations

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Topological dislocations are global lattice defects found in various systems ranging from crystals to photonic lattices. This work reports the first observation at optical frequencies of linear modes with tunable localization bound to edge dislocations and their nonlinear counterparts ‐ dislocation solitons. These results reveal an intriguing interplay

Nonlinearizing linear equations to integrable systems including new hierarchies with nonholonomic deformations

open access: yes, 2009
We propose a scheme for nonlinearizing linear equations to generate integrable nonlinear systems of both the AKNS and the KN classes, based on the simple idea of dimensional analysis and detecting the building blocks of the Lax pair.
