Multiple Chemical Sensitivities–Syndrome and Solution
Journal of Toxicology: Clinical Toxicology, 1995After describing two patients seen by the author, we define multiple chemical sensitivities and discuss the scope of the problem and the epidemiology. Although the incidence of multiple chemical sensitivities is not known, the demographics are similar to that of agoraphobia.

Single Solution, Multiple Perspectives
2009This article reviews a model-eliciting activity, with a single-numerical answer, implemented in a calculus class at the university level. A closer look at students’ solutions reveals multiple perspectives in solving the problem, perspectives that present students’ conceptual and representational systems.

We investigate two Boussinesq equations where the fourth-order terms come with minus and plus signs. We show that the Boussinesq equation with minus fourth-order term gives multiple soliton solutions, whereas the model with the plus fourth-order term gives multiple complex soliton solutions.
