In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Screening and Testing in Multiples
Clinics in Laboratory Medicine, 2010The same principles for diagnosis and screening in singleton pregnancies apply to multiples. However, there can be significant differences in the safety and efficacy of all approaches with multiple gestations. This article deals with specific aspects of screening in multiple pregnancies.

Screening and Testing in Multiples
Clinics in Laboratory Medicine, 2016The choice of screening or invasive procedure in twin pregnancies is a personal choice of whether the patient wishes to take a small risk of having a baby with a serious disorder versus a small risk of having a complication because she wishes to avoid that.

Multiple tests in the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis
The Italian Journal of Neurological Sciences, 1981Visual evoked potentials (VEPs), somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs), E-UFA test and CSF isoelectrofocusing (IEF) were applied to 42 multiple sclerosis patients. VEPs were abnormal in 29 cases. SEPs in 31 cases, E-UFA in 30 cases, CSF IEF in 38 cases. At least two tests were abnormal in 41 out of 42 patients; 16 cases revealed pathological responses

Multiple hypothesis tests in multiple investigations
Statistics in Medicine, 1995AbstractInferential statistical methods have traditionally been based on the assumption that one experiment is performed and that interest centres on one or more predetermined hypothesis tests. Exploratory research, on the other hand, often involves multiple hypotheses or repeated investigations under similar or different conditions or both.

MULTIPLE TESTING FOR OUTPUT CONVERGENCE
Macroeconomic Dynamics, 2012This paper tests for output convergence acrossn= 51 economies, employing the definition of Pesaran [Journal of Econometrics138, 312–355 (2007)]. The definition requires output gaps to be stationary around a constant mean. But when alln(n− 1)/2 pairs of log per capita output gaps are considered, this results in more than 1,000 unit root tests to be ...
