A dynamic semantics of single-wh and multiple-wh questions [PDF]
We develop a uniform analysis of single-wh and multiple-wh questions couched in dynamic inquisitive semantics. The analysis captures the effects of number marking on which-phrases, and derives both mention-some and mention-all readings as well as an often neglected partial mention-some reading in multiple-wh questions.

Multiple Wh-Questions and Parasitic Chains [PDF]
The present study deals with the superiority effects on multiple wh-questions. I will argue that an in-situ wh-phrase is not subject to 'sbsorption' but forms a kind of operator-variable chain at LF with the help of an already existing operator-variable chain, which is referred to as a parasitic chain in this paper.

Slovenian questions with short wh-movement and the low periphery [PDF]
In this paper I establish multiple wh-questions with short wh-movement, i.e. questions in which at least one wh-phrase moves to the clause initial position while the rest move to some clause internal position, following the subject, as a separate type of

Adding a Third Wh-Phrase Does Not Increase the Acceptability of Object-Initial Multiple-Wh-Questions [PDF]
This paper quantitatively evaluates the empirical claim that adding a third wh-phrase to object-initial multiple-wh-questions increases their acceptability (e.g., Bolinger 1978, Kayne 1983)—a claim that posed a problem for accounts of the subject/object asymmetry in multiple-wh-questions (e.g., Chomsky 1973, 1993; Lasnik & Saito 1984; Pesetsky 1987 ...

Interpretation of single vs.~multiple wh-questions in semi-spontaneous Urdu
In languages with flexible word order, multiple wh-questions allow us to investigate the relationship between word order and prosodic phrasing. This study analyzes the prosodic phrasing of wh-questions in Urdu, a language with variable word order. We investigate if multiple wh-questions in Urdu pattern with single wh-questions or narrow focus in terms ...

Wh-questions in dynamic inquisitive semantics [PDF]
This target article presents a type-theoretic dynamic inquisitive semantics framework, extending the first-order system presented in (Dotlačil, Jakub & Floris Roelofsen. 2019. Dynamic inquisitive semantics: Anaphora and questions.
