Investigation of the power coupling of novel wavelength-selective couplers incorporating axially symmetric long-period fibre gratings

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Science, 2011
Evanescent-field coupling was studied experimentally in novel optical-fibre-based wavelength-selective couplers, using axially symmetric long-period fibre grating (LPFG) structures.

FPGA Implementation of Reconfigurable Finite State Machine with Input Multiplexing Architecture Using Hungarian Method

open access: yesInternational Journal of Reconfigurable Computing, 2018
The mathematical model for designing a complex digital system is a finite state machine (FSM). Applications such as digital signal processing (DSP) and built-in self-test (BIST) require specific operations to be performed only in the particular instances.

Demonstration of a scalable frequency-domain readout of metallic magnetic calorimeters by means of a microwave SQUID multiplexer

open access: yes, 2017
We report on the first demonstration of a scalable GHz frequency-domain readout of metallic magnetic calorimeters (MMCs) using a 64 pixel detector array that is read out by an integrated, on-chip microwave SQUID multiplexer.

Engineering Novel DNA Nanoarchitectures for Targeted Drug Delivery and Aptamer Mediated Apoptosis in Cancer Therapeutics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Designer DNA Architecture‐templated Drug Conjugates (DDA‐DCs) are comprised of a DNA nanomaterial decorated with multiple drug‐loaded DNA aptamers. DDA‐DCs use a combination of multiple aptamer types, each recognizing a different membrane protein to achieve precise targeting of cancer cells.

Bioinspired Shape Reconfigurable, Printable, and Conductive “E‐Skin” Patch with Robust Antibacterial Properties for Human Health Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this article, Hojin Kim, Sayan Deb Dutta, and co‐workers report a shape‐reconfigurable, 3D printable, and highly adhesive slime‐like ‘electronic skin’ or ‘E‐skin’ patch for human health sensing and tissue engineering applications. The dual reinforcement of hydrogel patch with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) improve the ...

Effect of Pipelining and Multiplexing in Estimating HTTP/2.0 Web Object Sizes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
HTTP response size is a well-known side channel attack. With the deployment of HTTP/2.0, response size estimation attacks are generally dismissed with the argument that pipelining and response multiplexing prevent eavesdroppers from finding out response sizes.

Quantum Dots and Perovskites‐Based Physically Unclonable Functions for Binary and Ternary Keys via Optical‐to‐Electrical Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates optoelectronic PUFs that improve on traditional optical and electrical PUFs. The absorber materials are randomly coated through spray coating, ligand exchange, and dynamic spin coating. Incident light generates wavelength‐dependent binary multikey and enhances security ternary keys, approaching near‐ideal inter‐ and intra ...
