Integrated Assessment of Yield, Nitrogen Use Efficiency, and Environmental Impact of Biochar and Organic Fertilizer in Cherry Tomato Production

open access: yesAgronomy
Chemical nitrogen (N) fertilizer application has substantially boosted crop yield over the past few decades. However, an excessive N supply often comes at the expense of soil health and the long-term sustainability of agricultural ecosystems.

Development of Gocken Multiplication Technology for Cocoyam [PDF]

open access: yes
Low multiplication ratio of cocoyam {Colocasia esculenta (taro) and Xanthosoma mafafa (tannia)} and scarcity of planting materials are major constraints militating against sustainable cocoyam production.

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

Genome-Wide Identification and Analysis of the Nuclear Factor Y Gene Family in the Woodland Strawberry Fragaria vesca

open access: yesHorticulturae
Nuclear factor Ys (NF-Ys) are heterotrimeric transcription factors that specifically bind to CCAAT boxes present in numerous eukaryotic promoters. In plants, NF-Y proteins consist of the following three subunits: NF-YA, NF-YB, and NF-YC, each encoded by ...

Distributions with dynamic test functions and multiplication by discontinuous functions

open access: yes, 2006
As follows from the Schwartz Impossibility Theorem, multiplication of two distributions is in general impossible. Nevertheless, often one needs to multiply a distribution by a discontinuous function, not by an arbitrary distribution. In the present paper

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.
