Short‐Wavelength Infrared Imaging with Organic Photodetectors Based on Non‐Fullerene Acceptors with Detection above 1200 nm

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed organic photodetectors (OPDs) based on two novel low band gap non‐fullerene acceptors BZIC‐2F and BZIC‐2Cl, when blended with common polymer donor P3HT, extend detection range beyond 1200 nm with superior performance, rivaling costly inorganic sensors and past literature.

Complete boundedness of the Heat Semigroups on the von Neumann Algebra of hyperbolic groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We prove that $(\lambda_g\mapsto e^{-t|g|^r}\lambda_g)_{t>0}$ defines a completely bounded semigroup of multipliers on the von Neuman algebra of hyperbolic groups for all real number $r$. One ingredient in the proof is the observation that a construction

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Optimal mistuning for enhanced aeroelastic stability of transonic fans [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
An inverse design procedure was developed for the design of a mistuned rotor. The design requirements are that the stability margin of the eigenvalues of the aeroelastic system be greater than or equal to some minimum stability margin, and that the mass ...

Resonant forcing of nonlinear systems of differential equations

open access: yes, 2008
We study resonances of nonlinear systems of differential equations, including but not limited to the equations of motion of a particle moving in a potential.

Nonlinear charge transport mechanism in periodic and disordered DNA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We study a model for polaron-like charge transport mechanism along DNA molecules with emphasis on the impact of parametrical and structural disorder. Our model Hamiltonian takes into account the coupling of the charge carrier to two different kind of ...

End‐to‐End Sensing Systems for Breast Cancer: From Wearables for Early Detection to Lab‐Based Diagnosis Chips

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review explores advances in wearable and lab‐on‐chip technologies for breast cancer detection. Covering tactile, thermal, ultrasound, microwave, electrical impedance tomography, electrochemical, microelectromechanical, and optical systems, it highlights innovations in flexible electronics, nanomaterials, and machine learning.

Lagrangians Galore

open access: yes, 2007
Searching for a Lagrangian may seem either a trivial endeavour or an impossible task. In this paper we show that the Jacobi last multiplier associated with the Lie symmetries admitted by simple models of classical mechanics produces (too?) many ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Diffuse interface models of locally inextensible vesicles in a viscous fluid

open access: yes, 2013
We present a new diffuse interface model for the dynamics of inextensible vesicles in a viscous fluid. A new feature of this work is the implementation of the local inextensibility condition in the diffuse interface context.
