Fabrication and properties of Zr5 Pb3, a new neutron multiplier material for fusion blankets

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1986
During the STARFIRE study a new multiplier has been suggested: Zr 5 Pb 3 . This material has not yet been fabricated and its properties are unknown. We have started a Zr 5 Pb 3 fabrication program. The work has concentrated on a fabrication process based on hot isostatic pressing.

Fabrication of Scratch Resistant Polylactide with Multilayered Shish-kebab Structure through Layer-Multiplying Coextrusion

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2018
Recent demands for preserving esthetics of polymer parts over the duration of their service life have necessitated a favorable scratch resistance of polymer surfaces. Herein, a layer-multiplying coextrusion process was chosen to prepare a type of scratch resistant polylactide (PLA) material containing multilayer-assembled shish-kebab structure.

Study and Fabrication of a Frequency Divider-Multiplier Scheme for High-Efficiency Microwave Power

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1976
The design, fabrication, and experimental evaluation of an exploratory 8.2 W, microwave FM power amplifier for the 4-GHz band are presented. It operates on a frequency divide, amplify, and multiply scheme receiving about 2-4 dBm of FM signal in the 4-GHz band, divides the frequency coherently by two, amplifies the modulated signal to about 10.4 W, and ...

Light‐scattering properties of linear low density polyethylene/polystyrene films fabricated through layer‐multiplying technology

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2016
ABSTRACTThe material consisting of alternating layers of a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE)/polystyrene (PS) blend (90/10 wt/wt) and pure poly(methylmethacrylate) (PMMA) was prepared through layer‐multiplying extrusion. The LLDPE/PS light‐scattering films were obtained by peeling off the PMMA layers.

Frequency Multiplier Design Based on Multiple-Peak R-BJT-NDR Devices Fabricated by SiGe Technology

2006 16th Biennial University/Government/Industry Microelectronics Symposium, 2006
The negative differential resistance (NDR) device studied in this work is composed of the resistors (R) and bipolar junction transistors (BJT) devices. We regard this NDR device as R-BJT-NDR. Comparing to the resonant tunneling diode (RTD), this novel NDR device is made of resistors and transistors.

Design and fabrication of heterostructure varactor diodes for millimeter and submillimeter wave multiplier applications

[1991] Proceedings IEEE/Cornell Conference on Advanced Concepts in High Speed Semiconductor Devices and Circuits, 2002
A high frequency diode for use as a frequency multiplier element in the millimeter and submillimeter wavelength region is discussed. The diode, called a high electron mobility varactor (HEMVAR) diode, consists of a Schottky contact along the edge of a two-dimensional electron gas (2-DEG) structure, an ohmic contact to the 2-DEG, and appropriate ...

Microstructure and tensile behavior of multiply needled C/SiC composite fabricated by chemical vapor infiltration

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2009
Abstract The microstructure and tensile behavior of a multiply needled C/SiC composite fabricated by chemical vapor infiltration were investigated. Results showed that the tensile stress–strain curves exhibited a typical nonlinear behavior and can be divided into three regions: a very small initial linear region followed by a large nonlinear region ...

Fabrication and tribological properties of a multiply-alkylated cyclopentane/reduced graphene oxide composite ultrathin film

Carbon, 2013
A composite thin film composed of multiply-alkylated cyclopentane (MAC) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) is prepared on a silicon substrate. The rGO sheets were covalently assembled onto a silicon surface by mutilayer deposition. Meanwhile, MAC was synthesized as a hydrocarbon lubricant.

Fabrication and Tribological Study of Graphene Oxide/Multiply-Alkylated Cyclopentanes Multilayer Lubrication Films on Si Substrates

Tribology Letters, 2013
Multilayer films based on graphene oxide (GO) and multiply-alkylated cyclopentanes (MACs) have been fabricated successfully on silicon substrate via both self-assembled and dip-coating technologies. Given the excellent mechanical properties and frictional properties of GO, the resulting multilayer films composed of GO and MACs with excellent ...
