Half-life and spin of 60Mn^g [PDF]
A value of 0.28 +/- 0.02 s has been deduced for the half-life of the ground state of 60Mn, in sharp contrast to the previously adopted value of 51 +/- 6 s.

Hypoxia Induces a Mitotic Survival Advantage After Radiotherapy in Head and Neck Cancer Cells
Hypoxic tumor environments significantly limit radiotherapy effectiveness against cancer, particularly in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, the authors tracked hypoxic and post‐hypoxic cells using a hypoxia‐fate mapping system in human papillomavirus (HPV)‐positive and HPV‐negative HNSCC models.

Cross sections for the excitation of isovector charge-exchange resonances in 208Tl
The Glauber approximation for the treatment of heavy-ion scattering, has already been shown to give reliable predictions for the reaction cross section in the particular case of intermediate energy charge-exchange processes.

Positron spectra from internal pair conversion observed in {238}U + {181}Ta collisions [PDF]
We present new results from measurements and simulations of positron spectra, originating from 238U + 181Ta collisions at beam energies close to the Coulomb barrier.

Bio‐inspired nanophotonics: Structural color, chirality, and resonance metasurfaces
A butterfly‐wing‐inspired anisotropic plasmonic flatband resonant metasurface. Insets, photo of the butterfly, Sasakia charonda, and the SEM image of its wing scale (above); the SEM image of the metasurface (below). Abstract The dazzling colors of butterfly wings and hummingbird feathers are not painted with pigments, but crafted by nature's invisible ...

Controlling Collective Quasiparticle Dynamics Beyond Decoherence in Topological Interfaces
Gold nanoparticles placed above a deformed honeycomb plasmonic crystal couple to a chiral topological interface mode. The pseudospin‐split bands ψ+/ ψ− encode spin‐momentum locking, so emitters radiate directionally along the domain wall and share a common phase.

Improved Multipolar Hardy Inequalities
In this paper we prove optimal Hardy-type inequalities for Schrodinger operators with positive multi-singular inverse square potentials of the form $$A_{\lambda } := -\Delta- \lambda \displaystyle\sum _{1\leq i 0.$$ More precisely, we show that A λ is nonnegative in the sense of L 2 quadratic forms in \({\mathbb{R}}^{N}\), if and only if ...

Abstract Background Parkinson's disease is mainly characterized by dopaminergic neurodegeneration in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc) and α‐synuclein accumulation. The locus coeruleus (LC) is also affected in Parkinson's disease and linked to some nonmotor symptoms, but the extent and timing of its degeneration remain unclear.
