Evaluate the Prediction Level of Polar Motion Interpolation for 6 hr in Ideal and Real Environments

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract With the increasing demands for global development, deep space exploration missions are taking place more frequently, rendering the traditional 24‐hr Polar Motion (PM) predictions inadequate for supporting the frequent operations of spacecraft.

Generalized Multiquadric Neural Networks in Image Reconstruction

open access: yes, 2022
This work aims to numerically investigate the performance of the multiquadric (MQ) radial basis function in more general formats for image reconstruction applications. Desired features, i.e., accuracy and shape parameter sensitivity, of each form is numerically compared and explored.

The Derivation of a Multiquadric Variant Solver for the Three-Dimensional Heston-Hull-White PDE

open access: yesAxioms
The Heston-Hull-White (HHW) model is a generalization of the classical Heston approach that incorporates stochastic interest rates, making it a more accurate representation of financial markets.

Numerical Solution of Heat Equation in Polar Cylindrical Coordinates by the Meshless Method of Lines

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2021
We propose a numerical solution to the heat equation in polar cylindrical coordinates by using the meshless method of lines approach. The space variables are discretized by multiquadric radial basis function, and time integration is performed by using ...

Radial Basis Function Collocation With L‐BFGS Optimization for Higher Order Initial Value Problems

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This paper describes a radial basis function collocation method that uses limited‐memory Broyden–Fletcher–Goldfarb–Shanno optimization to solve one‐dimensional ordinary differential initial value problems. Numerical tests include first‐order problems and manufactured fourth‐, sixth‐, and eighth‐order problems.

Hybrid Vision Transformer With Convolutional Blocks Approach for Subsurface Electrical Resistivity Tomography Inversion

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 2, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) is widely used for subsurface imaging. Despite recent advancements in machine learning based ERT inversion using conventional deep learning models such as CNN and UNet, accurately delineating resistivity profiles of natural and artificial subsurface anomalies remains challenging.

α$$ \alpha $$‐KIDS: A Novel Feature Evaluation in the Ultrahigh‐Dimensional Right‐Censored Setting, With Application to Head and Neck Cancer

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 44, Issue 15-17, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Recent advances in sequencing technologies have allowed the collection of massive genome‐wide information that substantially enhances the diagnosis and prognosis of head and neck cancer. Identifying predictive markers for survival time is crucial for devising prognostic systems and learning the underlying molecular drivers of the cancer course.

Repeated knots in least squares multiquadric functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A previous paper by the authors [FH93] noted that there was a strong tendency to obtain near-repeated knots in their algorithm for least squares approximation of scattered data by multiquadric functions. In this paper we observe that this leads naturally

3D Model of the Shallow Crustal Density Distribution of the Krafla Volcanic System in Iceland

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract Krafla volcano, located in Iceland's North Volcanic Zone, has been extensively studied using static gravity surveys since 1975. This study integrates measurements acquired between 2022 and 2023 with legacy data to produce a new gravity map of the area. We produce gravity gradient maps to delineate shallow subsurface density features and invert
